EDITORIAL

Americans have suffered election fraud at the hands of the Democrats.  They were primarily enabled by the Chinese Communist Party because the Chinese know Joe Biden is beholden to them.  The Russians, Iranians, and George Soros (and probably a few others), played lesser roles.  We have no alternative but to accept that the Democrat Party is as much an enemy to freedom as those who enable them, and I hope everyone who reads this will bear that thought in mind in the days to come.  I hope “keeping it in mind” includes your commitment to boycott any and all products that are made in China, as well as boycotting any products made anywhere by companies that are owned by China.  Please do your research so you won’t help finance the country that seeks to take over the United States of America!

As some of you know, I’m a bibliophile and enjoy reading – mostly history and philosophy.  Growing up though, I was more of a science fiction fan and never missed an opportunity to watch a sci-fi film in the theatres or on TV.  The unique thing is, science fiction, which is never to be confused with science fantasy, often gives us a glimpse into tomorrow.  Artificial intelligence is but one currently popular theme where this is true, but there are literally hundreds of examples one may cite.  The methods by which things are accomplished in science fiction tales and movies may be a bit off kilter but the end result is what truly matters.

At the risk of coming off as a conspiracy kook, I will tell you I think the next few years in the United States are going to be unlike anything we could ever have imagined but, I assure you, things are shaping up to be much worse for Europe, Africa, South America, Russia, and Asia.  (More on that in another issue perhaps.)

I do not claim to be a prophet; I am merely an analyst and, from the performance reports I received from my previous employers, a fairly good one.  I do not foresee a future as bad as that which was portrayed in the underrated 1936 film treatment of H.G. Wells’ book entitled “Things to Come” (which starred an underrated actor Raymond Massey), or as bad as Victor Hugo’s story of post-revolutionary France, “Les Miserables”, but “bad” just the same.  The methodologies and technologies will most certainly be different but the theme, I think, will bear some glaring similarities.

Many people who have, perhaps, a greater understanding of what’s to come (as based on their access to and analysis of more data), are already telling us there will never again be a “free and fair” election in the United States.  I would amend that assessment to the point of only saying I don’t think there will be another “free and fair” election in my lifetime.

Certainly, at 74 years of age, I do not expect to see another conservative Republican in the White House and, as based on the history I’ve read (which, apparently, is a good deal more than most Americans), our hopes for living in a Constitutional Republic at any time in the future have been obliterated.  The following paragraphs lay out my prognosis for the future of the United States of America.

While the Democrats work to remove all vestiges of the Electoral College from our Constitution, and those parts of the US Code that support and clarify it, they will be busy at destroying any and all evidence that alludes to the fact that they actually stole the election in the first place.  The “new normal” will be the transition of our country from that of being a “constitutional republic” to that of a “democracy.”  I would hope that everyone reading this understands that democracies – like socialist and communist governments – always fail; one of the most notable examples is Ancient Greece.  Also, I’m certain everyone reading this has seen the maps that show us the liberal bastions of the east- and west coast, along with those in the liberal Midwest, who would be the “deciders” of all national elections.

So, what may we expect to see as the products of the Biden/Harris administration?

The bias in the media will become increasingly well-orchestrated as the catch phrases will be delivered in perfect harmony – the medium will truly become the message.  If we don’t understand it now, we will surely understand that a lie told often enough becomes the truth.

We will be told, in the interest of fairness, each citizen will have to step up and pay their “fair share.”  The tax cuts and regulations reduction that enabled a surging return toward the revival of free-market capitalism will disappear.  The Biden regime will find new ways to tax working Americans, and we will learn those tax revenues will be eaten up as quickly as they are collected in order to help those needful Americans and causes we never knew existed.

If we dare scrutinize things closely, we will learn that certain individuals and entities are relieved from having to pay their “fair share;” those obtaining special dispensation will be the same individuals and entities who support and enable the liberal cum progressive cum socialist programs.  At some point, these entities and individuals will become formally known as the nomenklatura of American society. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nomenklatura

One of the first new taxes Biden has talked about is a $200 tax on all firearms.  While such a tax would prevent many Americans from acquiring the means to protect themselves, their families, and their property, there is much more to this tax than one might realize.  Kindly consider:  An imposed tax is a means toward creating a national registration program for firearms; at some point in the future, this national registry will enable a national confiscation program to be enacted, and; when all firearms have been confiscated there will be no means by which Americans can revolt against a Police State and the tyranny that follows.  However, this scenario is only one side of the coin.

If you’ve had your eyes open, you will know that we have, for several decades, been progressing toward a state of de facto anarchy; I know I have mentioned it on numerous occasions in this newsletter and in my social media posts and no one has denied the fact.  We know this is true when we see the politically well-connected go unindicted for committing crimes that we know would result in harsh punishment if we did the same thing.  Two examples are Hillary Clinton’s crime of destroying subpoenaed information and Barack 0bama’s transference of billions of dollars (some of which was in cash) to Iran, a sworn enemy of the United States and the number one State sponsor of terrorism.

In recent years and months, the curve toward full-blown anarchy has gone asymptotic.  Each passing day, Americans are coming to realize how our “Justice System” is decaying into non-existence.  We have watched in dismay as prisons have been emptied of violent felons.  We have watched in dismay how our courts – even the Supreme Court of the United States – refuses to hear cases that any reasonable person would understand are pleas for justice in response to egregious crimes.  It’s getting worse by the moment.

Since the election, there has been a marked increase in apprehensions at our southern border.  The increased strain is in response to Mr. Biden informing us that illegal aliens will no longer have to fear deportation.  Another manifestation of Mr. Biden’s capitulation to the idea of border security is the increase of “Stash Houses” (especially in the Nuevo Laredo District) that have become not only temporary warehouses for the drug trade, but also warehouses for the human trafficking industry.  This strain on our border has resulted in the deaths of seventeen Border Patrol Officers this year – several of these Officers died from being infected by the Wuhan virus (and other diseases) carried by the illegal aliens.

The strain on our Border Patrol Officers has been excruciating to the point that many of them have filed for early retirement, while others have simply walked off the job – like all of us, they want to go home safely to their families every night, too.  The resignation/retirement of Border Patrol Officers mirrors that of many larger cities – especially those Democrat-run cities that have imposed defunding programs on their Police and Sheriff’s Departments.  This year alone, in New York City, some 2000 Law Enforcement Officers have either retired or have filed their paperwork to do so.   https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/news/2020/07/24/cops-say-they-re-retiring-because-of-anti-police-rhetoric  Other cities currently seeing major reductions in their law enforcement personnel include Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, and others.   https://www.wsj.com/articles/cities-are-losing-police-chiefs-and-struggling-to-hire-new-ones-11602162000

The response to declining police forces has forced Mayors and Governors to reassess how they will utilize the law enforcement personnel that still remain.  Portland, OR has legalized the use of heroin and other Schedule 1 drugs.  Los Angeles, CA has informed its citizens they no longer prosecute crimes of theft and robbery for so long as the perpetrator can demonstrate a “need” for having committed their crime.  George Glascon, D.A. for Los Angeles County, CA is among other politicians who have ended cash bail requirements for felons and he recently dropped some of the charges against an illegal alien who murdered a police officer.  It’s all a part of “the plan.”

As the presence of law and order declines, crime will commensurately increase.  When the frequency and severity of crime rises to a certain point, “the People,” whose rights to keep and bear arms have been infringed to the point where they can no longer defend themselves, will plead to the government for protection.  Since the state and municipal law enforcement entities will be powerless to protect the citizens, Mr. Biden, or Ms. Harris as the case may be, will tell us, as a measure of their love for the People, they will have no choice but to declare Martial Law.  The People will welcome the government being in full control and maintaining order . . . for a while.

 

BOOK OF THE MONTH

This month’s selection is entitled Plunkitt of Tammany Hall, by William L. Riordon, is among those “must reads” for all students of politics.

Published review:  George Washington Plunkitt’s Very Plain Talks on Very Practical Politics is a masterpiece of Americana artfully recorded by Plunkitt’s “Boswell,” the newspaper man William Riordon.  When this book was first published in 1905, Plunkitt (1842-1924) was ward boss of the Fifteenth Assembly District and one of the powers of Tammany Hall when Tammany was supreme.  Boasting of his singular talent for getting the very most out of politics through “honest graft” (“I seen my opportunities and I took ‘em”) Plunkitt provides in this irresistible little volume a wonderfully frank and funny analysis of the Tammany machine and the ways to succeed in big-city politics.  Both the general reader and the serious student of American political mores will delight in the revelations to be found in such enlightening chapters as “Honest Graft and Dishonest Graft,” “The Curse of Civil Service Reform,” “Reformers Only Mornin’ Glories,” “Brooklynites Natural-Born Hayseeds,” “Tammany Leaders Not Bookworms,” “Tammany the Only Lastin’ Democracy,” and “Bosses Preserve the Nation.”

When the United States was stricken by the Wuhan virus, our economy was also made to suffer.  However, our economy showed its resilience in the way of a “V-shaped” recovery.

President-elect Joe Biden in a Wednesday interview said “there’s no reason why” his administration shouldn’t raise both corporate and individual income taxes to levels maintained during former president George Bush’s administration.

Biden insisted “everybody pairs their fair share” in taxes during his presidency, and suggested a nearly 40% rate for those in the top bracket, which he said was commonplace during the Bush era, in an interview with the New York Times.

Scott DesJarlais (R-TN, 4th District) shared the following:

Based on conversations with the legal team and others (including many of you), we have been continuing to do a deep dive on two major items:

1 – The electronic voting systems and questions surrounding their accuracy and security

2 – Constitutional questions around changes to election laws made by Governors without the approval of their state legislatures.

Ironically enough, a lot of investigations about the sanctity and security of electronic voting systems (both touch screens and optical scanners) have been done by the Democrats over the last four years as they remain convinced that the 2016 election results were the result of Russian hackers.  Those same systems have now produced a different result in 2020 in which we are being told – by the very same people who have never accepted the 2016 results – is now completely secure, impenetrable, and unassailable.

There are a number of electronic voting systems and vote count reporting systems being used in different places – ES&S, Dominion, Hart, Tenex, Demtech, VR Systems, and Smartmatic among many. One of the concerns raised about the electronic systems is their vulnerability to be exploited remotely.  While many of these systems claim to be “air gapped” and free from being exploited remotely, it has been discovered that not all of these machines are secured and have been or can be serviced or accessed in some remote format.  In addition, many of these systems are updated through the use of flash drives that download updated software and/or data.

There should be complete, public, and transparent audits and forensic analyses done on each of these systems used in 2020 – particularly in states with close margins – no matter who won those individual states.  That is not an unreasonable or unfair recommendation.

The second question is, of course, a legal question, concerning the constitutionality of last-minute election law changes made by executive orders without the approval of the state legislatures.  Article II, Section 1 includes the “Electors Clause,” stating:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress:  but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

There is no question that changes in state election laws were made by executive orders without legislative approval (usually under the guise of COVID) to allow for ballots to be allowed after deadlines had passed and mail-ins and absentees to be allowed under far more liberal circumstances which created an environment that allowed “vote harvesting” and thousands of ballots to be counted days and weeks after the election – without the requisite standards of verification that we should expect for a secure election.

This second issue is also the premise of the lawsuit filed by the Attorney General of Texas.  I do believe it is a valid constitutional question and the Texas lawsuit does note a recent observation by Justice Gorsuch in another case between the Brooklyn diocese and Governor Cuomo on unlawful forced shutdowns:

“Government is not free to disregard the [Constitution] in times of crisis. … Yet recently, during the COVID pandemic, certain States seem to have ignored these long-settled principles.”

I wholeheartedly agree on this point, and I continue to stand with and work with the President.

Hi, my name is Jeffrey McCormack and I am from Los Angeles, California.  I am a conservative political activists that has worked for many Republicans and conservative causes nationwide.  Recently I just worked on Young Kim’s successful congressional run for District 39, as a Field Representative, and was a casual supporter of Michelle Steel’s congressional campaign.

The fight and struggle for conservatism and the protection of American values must continue regardless of the outcome of the presidential election.  America was founded on the principles of self-governance and free market capitalism and as conservatives we must strive to protect that.  That is why I am currently filming an hour long documentary that will help Republicans win in the 2022 midterms, especially in California.

California is in a crisis thanks to Democratic leadership and the radical left.  They have passed some really radical policies in the past few years that has pushed many businesses and people to leave the state.  In late September the Democrats passed AB 3121 which was a bill to establish a task force to find reparations for descendants of slaves.

Our Governor has declared curfew in many counties across California which means over 90 percent of Californians must remain in their homes between 10PM and 5AM unless performing essential activities, and recently Governor Newsom ordered a statewide mask mandate out in public with many cities in California (run by Democratic leaders) mandating mask wearing in public or be fined hundreds of dollars.

California is already facing a serious problem with homelessness and the high cost of living and the Democrats just keep making it worse with their radical policies.  My state is an example of what will happen when you let the radical left take control of government and that is why my partner and I want to do a documentary about this.

Our goal is to expose their failures managing the state and how radical they have gotten for the past several years.  And this documentary would definitely help Republicans nationwide win back seats in 2022. We plan to release our documentary “The California Exodus” over the summer of 2022 before the midterms and we need help funding this. So we hope we can count on your support.

     Americans, regardless of political affiliation, should be demanding and supporting a full investigation into the integrity of this and every election.  Every irregular vote and every ballot cast that has been somehow corrupted or otherwise fails to pass legal muster must not be counted.  Every regular or irregular process or procedure, every suspicious execution of established procedures, every machine, and every computer program should be evaluated, and every employee or volunteer working at the polls should be evaluated and be free of criminal history.  Every serious allegation of fraud in any election, whether in a battleground state or otherwise, should be fully investigated in public view.  Every American should demand absolute integrity in every American election.  Why would any American insist that election fraud not be investigated?  Why would anyone want to live under a president, a governor, a mayor, a legislator, or any other officeholder who is under a cloud of election fraud allegations?  I may prefer one leader over another and fight for my favorite, but more importantly, I want to know that whoever is elected is elected fairly and honestly by my fellow citizens.

Given the allegations of the use of mystical logarithms in software systems and computers used in tabulating the vote, it behooves Americans to re-evaluate all our voting systems and make sure they are safeguarded and foolproof.  The present election chaos demands it.  We must be thoroughly warned by this and be fully prepared for future elections.

All of a sudden they want us to automatically be united with the Democratic Party. Here is my little bitty, small issue with the whole, “Let us all be a United States again”, from former Vice-President, Joe Biden.

We remember the non-stop and live fact checking on our President and his supporters.

We remember non-stop in your face lies and open cover-ups from the media.

We remember the President and his staff being spied on.

We remember five Senators shot on a ballfield.

We remember every so-called comedy show turn into nothing but Trump hate fest.

We remember 95% negative coverage in the news.

We remember the state governors asking and getting everything they ask for and then blaming Trump for their problems.

We remember a Trump top aid verbally assaulted in two DC restaurants.

We remember people banging on the Supreme Court doors.

We remember that we were called every name in the book for supporting President Trump.

We remember that Hollywood said they would leave after Trump was elected but they stayed.

This list is endless, but you get the idea.

My friends will be my friends, but a party that has been on the attack for 4 long years does not get a free pass with me.

I too have copied and posted!! I may forgive but I will never forget the hatred shown to President Trump and his family!!

Every time the GOP shows decency, the Democrats and their thugs see it as a sign of weakness and increase the intensity of their thuggery.

A tragically sad feature of American politics is that, at the legislative and congressional level, the Republican Party is essentially a loose collection of egocentric amateurs and dilatants, many of whom view politics as some kind of gentlemen’s social club.  They have little discipline or cohesion and, in stark contrast to the Democrats, do not often act as a unified force, even when momentous issues are at stake.

In practical politics they are woeful abecedarians, frequently seeming naive about, or blind to, the dirty tricks and fraud of the other side, and when confronted by evidence of it, seem like deer in the headlights incapable of action.

If Republicans do not smarten up and understand that you cannot overcome a pack of ravening, slavering wolves with a BB gun, they will become a political Dodo.

They should start by insisting –right now–in the strongest possible terms (maybe on pain of being expelled from the party) that the Republican majorities in the legislatures of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin get off their lazy backsides and exercise their constitutional authority to choose the College Electors for their states.

Or, at the very least, they should rescind certification where it has been made and decline to issue new certifications.  This latter would deprive Biden of the 270 EC votes he needs and throw the matter to Congress for decision.

 

RANDOM THOUGHTS

It is possible to have “free and fair” elections anywhere and at any time but it first requires that each citizen voices their opinion to their representatives – not merely suggesting that there should be free and fair elections but DEMANDING that elections SHALL be free and fair.

Every time the people of a country are let to suffer it is directly because they lacked the resolve to avoid suffering; they submitted to allowing their government to control them instead of standing firm and controlling their government!

 

Troy Gardner, a reader from Hammond, Indiana writes:

Like you mentioned in your November issue, it’s a curious thing that Joe Biden has not been charged with any violations of the Emoluments Clause (Article I – Section 9, Paragraph 6).  I’m not a lawyer but I would have suspected all along that Joe Biden was raking in money on all those deals his son and brother were involved with in Ukraine and China.  That’s why I don’t think anybody was surprised when Hunter Biden’s laptop computer had messages about “the Big Guy” taking 10% off the top.  This tells me that not only did Joe’s family rake in a lot of dough but so did he!  As if that wasn’t enough evidence, there was the testimony from one of the people who helped the Bidens run their “businesses” – Tony Bobulinski!

All of that said, the most shocking part of this story is that every Republican in Washington DC has not been screaming at the Attorney General to bring in the entire Biden family – Joe included – and have them testify under oath what happened, and then set up an independent counsel to check their stories out.

The fact is, the Republicans have, for the most part, been as quiet as a bunch of mice about it all so this leaves us with what seems to be a contradiction:  The Republicans, who are always claiming how they are all for law and order have contradicted their claims by remaining silent.

I read Atlas Shrugged, one of those books you recommended in your newsletter and I learned there’s no such thing as a contradiction.  That book said if you think you’ve seen a contradiction you should examine your premises because one of them is wrong.

I never thought I would say this but the only conclusion I can see as to why Joe Biden, and a lot of other Democrats, have not been charged with the hundreds of crimes anyone can recognize as such is because the Republicans are also guilty of similar crimes and they’ve all agreed to cover for one another!

 

Andy Bigglesworth, shared a review of state-by-state 2020 President Election activities:

ARIZONA

  • State lawmakers are calling for decertification of the election results.
  • The State Supreme Court has agreed to hear GOP election challenge.
  • State legislature is calling for a forensic audit of Dominion voting machines.

 

GEORGIA

  • Video surveillance footage from the State Farm Arena’s security cameras show that four poll workers sent everyone home, cleared out the room, and remained to pull four suitcases filled with ballots from under a table covered with a table cloth to be counted. An estimated 18,000 ballots were run through the machines outside of view from poll watchers and the public in violation of state law.
  • Sidney Powell’s November 25 lawsuit was dismissed in district court on the grounds the suit should have been filed too late and should have first filed in state court. She intends to file an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals with the stated goal of having the suit heard by the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • Kemp has rejected the state legislature’s call for a special session.

MICHIGAN

  • 22 Dominion Machines are being independently and forensically audited.
  • Michigan House Oversight Committee Chairman tells CEO of Dominion to appear (in-person or Zoom) for questioning or be subpoenaed.
  • Michigan Supreme Court asked by the Trump Campaign to declare the election process violated the State Constitution.
  • A Dominion IT Contractor testified at a House Hearing of the fraud she witnessed on election night including thousands of ballots being scanned numerous times.
  • Witnesses testify (under penalty of perjury) they were told and, did in fact, back-

  • USPS Subcontractor witness testifies (under penalty of perjury) that tens of thousands of mail-in ballots were backdated.
  • Wisconsin Assembly Committee to hold a public hearing on election irregularities on Dec. 11.

TEXAS (NEW)

  • The State of Texas is suing Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin at the United States Supreme Court for allegedly exploiting “the COVID-19 pandemic to justify ignoring federal and state election laws and unlawfully [and unconstitutionally] enacting last-minute changes, thus skewing the results of the 2020 General Election.”

 

SOME REPUBLICANS CHALLENGE AG BARR

We wondered when (if) it would ever come to pass, that day when our Republican representatives would formally address Attorney General William Barr’s reticence to open an investigation into what can only be described as massive voter fraud on par with any third-world country in the history of Earth.  It seems the tipping point came about as the result Attorney General William Barr’s statement to the Associated Press:

“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election.”

I would like to think, after decades of “playing nice,” “reaching across the aisle” (only to have their hands bitten time and time again), and “going along to get along,” twenty-six Republicans finally declared (if only temporarily) an end to their being the official doormat for the Democrats (and every other “Swamp Creature” in Washington, DC), in the way of shedding their fecklessness in the way of demanding – DEMANDING, I say – that Mr. Barr take “bold and courageous action” in investigating what have been described as “irregularities” in the 2020 presidential election, and especially those in the Georgia senatorial election.

That’s what I’d like to think.

Most likely, however; this action was not initiated as an act of their own volition.  What probably happened is enough ordinary citizens folks like you and me, those who comprise that group known as We the People, took time to inform our representatives that we’d had enough, that we were good and mad, and that we weren’t going to settle for their inaction any more.

Regardless of how it came about, every American owes a debt of gratitude to Representative Michael Cloud (R-TX), for being the first to stand up and officially encourage Attorney General Barr to start an investigation.

Following are some excerpts from Representative Cloud’s letter:

     “There are a number of anomalies, statistical improbabilities, and accusations of fraud that bring the election results in several states into question.  Affidavits of irregularities in to voting and tabulations processes have been sworn in a number of jurisdictions.   Threats of retribution by leftist groups with a history of violence have been made against election officials and attorneys for President Trump.”

     “The post-Election Day delay and inaction is particularly suspect after the long-awaited release of the Durham report remains tragically behind schedule.  For three years the American people watched as our taxpayer funded Justice Department was weaponized against their duly elected President.”

     “Unfortunately, too often the American people have seen many of our most powerful institutions corrupted against The People.  In the case of alleged election improprieties, justice delayed truly would be justice denied.  The American people deserve, and justice demands, action now.”

MORE SIGNS OF THINGS TO COME

     Each day we gain more insight into the pattern of behavior that is shaping up the Biden/Harris regime and can thus more accurately predict the direction they plan to take us.  It is not a direction that would protect American sovereignty and independence.  Rather, it is a direction that will drain our treasury and enslave Americans to the regulatory whims of countries who cannot hope to compete with American ingenuity and productivity unless they can limit us or cause us to fail.

President-elect Joe Biden, a man who is profoundly ignorant in all applications of the scientific process, professes to believe there exists a human-caused climate crisis.  He is convinced that responding to it in a manner that will receive the blessings of other countries is such an important issue, he is creating a new Cabinet-level position specifically dealing with it.  Mr. Biden’s pick for this spot is former Secretary of State John Kerry (D-MA), who was Mr. 0bama’s agent in the Iran Nuclear Deal – JCPOA – in which Mr. 0bama purposefully lent aid and comfort to our enemies.

John Kerry has a long history of being on the wrong side of climate issues (and most every issue for that matter!).  During his 28 years in Congress, Kerry supported the 1997 Kyoto Protocol that George W. Bush withdrew from before it went into full effect.  Kerry also supported the Paris Climate Accord – a fiasco of an agreement that did little but drain America’s treasury to support and fund programs in other countries who had no commitment in reducing their carbon emissions.  That China and India – the world’s foremost polluters – were exempted from the regulations set forth in the Paris Climate Accord was not an oversight on Mr. Kerry’s – or Mr. Biden’s – part!

+++ HR 1044 Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2020 (“Tugboat” Zoe Lofgren, D-CA, 38 pages).

The stated purpose of this bill is to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate the per-country numerical limitation for employment-based immigrants, to increase the per-country numerical limitation for family-sponsored immigrants, and for other purposes, but there is much more one should know about it.

This bill originated in the Senate, as S 386 (same title), sponsored by Mike Lee (R-UT), and was a quid pro quo to the Chamber of Commerce, and other special interest groups, to ease up on the requirements of H-1B visas so high-tech industries could import more workers who would be willing to work for lower wages and thereby undermine American workers.  What is perhaps most disturbing about this bill is the way it was snuck through the Senate!

The Senate version of this bill was passed on a motion to suspend the rules, allowing Senators to pass it by a voice vote, and thereby not having their names on the voting record that would be published in the Federal Register.  Not one Republican Senator stood up against this bill!

This bill will undoubtedly sail through the House of Representatives, and then on to the President’s desk.  One can only hope President Trump will veto this bill but you may rest assured that if Joe Biden should prevail in becoming the next occupant of the Oval Office, this bill will be presented again.  Such is one of the many pains of fraudulent elections.

What can YOU do?

For the present, please let your Senators know you are aware of what they have done to betray the American worker and then contact your Representative in the House to ask that they stand up and fight against this bill.

 

+ S 5014 A bill to Amend Title 31, US Code, to Provide for Automatic Continuing Resolutions (Rand Paul, KY-R, 6 pages).  Specifically, Section 1311 is amended by adding paragraphs (a) and (b) to cause existing programs shall continue at not less than one percent of their previous allocated amounts.  This bill would prevent one party from leveraging passage of budgetary items as a means to manipulate the next budget proposal in order to get their earmarks included into the legislation.  Clever!

 

+HR 3884 MORE Act of 2019 (Jerrold Nadler, D-NY, 31 pages).  This bill may be cited as the “Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act of 2019.”  This bill amends:  Title 21 U.S. Code, Sections 801, 802, 841, 842, 843, 859, 860, 863, and 886; Title 16 U.S. Code, Section 559, and; Title 18 U.S. Code, Section 2516 by striking references to marijuana (“marihuana”).

If passed, this bill would decriminalize and de-schedule cannabis as a federally controlled drug, it would provide for reinvestment in certain persons adversely impacted by the War on Drugs, provide for expungement of certain cannabis offenses, and for other purposes.  Passage of this bill would complete the 2nd step to decriminalize the use of tetrahydrocannabinols (THC), the mind-altering component of marijuana.

+ HR 8251 & S 4602 Stop Blocking Hospitals Act (Ann Wagner, R-MO and John Kennedy D-LA).  This legislation is in response to an event that occurred in September 2020, in Los Angeles, CA when two police officers were shot as they sat in their police car, in Compton, CA.  A group of “protesters” blocked the entrance to the hospital, shouting “We hope they die.”     Anti-Police Protesters Yell ‘We Hope They Die’ Outside Hospital Where Wounded Deputies Were Taken – CBS Los Angeles (cbslocal.com)

This legislation would make it a Federal crime to intentionally “instruct, injure, intimidate, or interfere” with an individual attempting to receive life-saving medical attention or treatment.  Punishment for such a crime would carry a sentence of up to one year for the first offense and up to three years for subsequent offenses.
While it is reasonable to assume an individual blocking access to life-saving care would be guilty of attempted manslaughter or attempted murder (if the injured party survived), and manslaughter or murder (if the injured party died as a result of having been blocked from receiving treatment), this bill is at least a timid step in the right direction.

 

HR 7995 Coin Metal Modification Authorization and Cost Savings Act of 2020 (Mark Amodei, R-NV, 4 pages).  This bill may be of interest to trivia buffs and the numismatists amongst us, it amends Title 31, United States Code, so as to save Federal funds by authorizing changes to the composition of circulating coins, and for other purposes.

You may be interested to learn several modifications to the alloys that comprise United States coinage have occurred through the years.  Most notably was the reduction of silver in the dollar coin that occurred in 1922.  During WWII, the changes to the alloy used to mint the nickel from 1941 through 1945, was made to enable the United States to make more galvanized metals.  Also in WWII, our supply of copper got so low that the 1943 penny was made from steel.  The introduction of the copper-laminated coins came about in 1965; the composition change to the penny in 1982, and most recently; another compositional change to the penny began in 2000.  If this bill passes, chances are that our coins won’t have any more value than does the paper money printed by the Federal Reserve – none of it will be worth a plug nickel!

This bill passed in the House of Representatives (343/41), and has been forwarded to the Senate for consideration.

 

+ S 945 Holding Foreign Companies Accountable Act (John Kennedy, R-LA, 8 pages).  This bill amends the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, to require certain issuers to disclose to the Securities and Exchange Commission information regarding foreign jurisdictions that prevent the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board from performing inspections under that Act, and for other purposes.

Working through their de facto agents in the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate (and through the governments in several States), the Chinese have exploited loopholes in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act to evade scrutiny and thus negatively impact American-owned businesses and corporations, as well as the U.S. economy, as a whole.  Senator Kennedy’s bill would shed light on how the Chinese are taking unfair advantage of American consumers, identify action items to prevent such unethical practices, and (hopefully) identify those in government who have enabled it to happen.

 

+ HR 4403 Stop Debt Collection Abuse Act of 2019 (Emanuel Cleaver II, D-MO,

This bill would amend the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to restrict the debt collection practices of certain debt collectors.  In other words, the bill prevents businesses who have sold items on credit to persons who do not make the payments they agreed to make from repossessing the items sold to those who do not pay their bills and from garnishing the incomes of those who are in arrears on the debts they signed onto.  To say it another way, if a person wishes to purchase something and then refuse to pay for it, the person(s) holding the debt have no recourse.  If this bill passes, everything from here on will be FREE!  (And, as we all know, there’s no such thing as “free.”)

 

HR 6395 National Defense Authorization Act of 2021 (Adam Smith, D-WA).

This bill will authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2021 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes.  Passed 335/78 with 37 nay votes from Democrats and 40 nay votes from Republicans.

Discussions on this bill have included some unfavorable remarks from Republicans concerned about how funds would be used and the lack of oversight in their use.  Democrats who voted against the bill cited their disagreement with spending money on our military as it limited funds for social programs.

It is worthy to note the federal budget process occurs in two stages:  appropriations and authorizations.  This is an authorization bill, which directs how federal funds should or should not be used.  (It does not set overall spending limits, however, which are the subject of appropriations bills.)  Authorizations are typically made for single fiscal years (October 1 through September 30 of the next year) but are often renewed in subsequent law.

 

+ HR 970 Robert E. Lee Statue Removal Act (Anthony Brown, D-MD, 1 page).  This bill would direct the Secretary of the Interior to develop a plan for the removal of the monument to Robert E. Lee at the Antietam National Battlefield, and for other purposes.  As it turns out, those “other purposes” in Mr. Brown’s bill direct the Secretary of the Department of the Interior to destroy the monument.  In other words, to erase history.  To wit:  Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Director of the National Park Service, shall remove and appropriately dispose of the Monument to General Robert E. Lee at the Antietam National Battlefield.

 

+ HR 5273 Securing America’s Ports Act (Xochitl Torres Small, D-NM, 10 pages).  This bill would require the Secretary of Homeland Security to develop a plan to increase to 100 percent the rates of scanning of commercial and passenger vehicles and freight rail entering the United States at land ports of entry along the border using large-scale, nonintrusive inspection systems to enhance border security, and for other purposes.

 

[As the last entry to this edition of The Rhea County Republican, Legislative Report, for your edification and entertainment, I am pleased to offer a bill whose purpose is to relax the standards on the ceiling fans in our homes and offices.  This bill would modify design standards in such a way as to permit an increase to the energy used to power such fans but, in doing so, enable manufacturers to make them more durable. – Editor]

 

HR 5758 Ceiling Fan Improvement Act of 2020 (Brett Guthrie, R-KY, 2 pages).

This bill amends the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to make technical corrections to the energy conservation standards for ceiling fans, and for other purposes.  It seems the changes will make ceiling fans more durable.  This bill passed the House by a vote of 396/2; Daniel Webster (R-FL) and Roger Marshall (R-KS) cast the dissenting votes.  Just think, had this bill never been introduced, we most likely would have never known that our government, at some point, thought it necessary to pass a bill on how ceiling fans used by Americans must be constructed, and then take time from all there is to do to pass another bill saying they’ve changed their minds.

     On March 23, 1775, the Second Virginia Convention had convened at St. John’s Church in Richmond, away from the watchful eye of the Loyalist Governor.  They had assembled to consider some weighty matters concerning the British tyranny and oppression of the King of England.  A thirty-nine year- old delegate from Hanover County named Patrick Henry took a seat in the church.  Henry listened as many babbled on and on in favor of continued conciliatory measures and more pleading with Parliament.  Finally, the delegate from Hanover rose from his pew to address the wavering assembly of Virginians, and with great passion in his voice, this is some of what he said and, as you read his words, think and compare what you read to the situation before us today:

     “Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope… but… let us not deceive ourselves, sir… If we wish to be free… we must fight!  I repeat it, sir, we must fight!  An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!  They tell us, sir that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary.  But when shall we be stronger?  Will it be the next week, or the next year?  Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house?  Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction…until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

     “Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.  The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty… are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us.  Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone.  There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us [2 Chron. 32:8].  The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone [Eccl. 9:11]; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.  Besides, sir…There is no retreat but in submission and slavery!  Our chains are forged!  Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston!  The war is inevitable–and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.

     “It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter.  Gentlemen may cry, ‘Peace, Peace’ — but there is no peace [Jer. 6:14].  The war is actually begun! …. Our brethren are already in the field!  Why stand we here idle [Matt. 20:6]?  What is it that gentlemen wish?  What would they have?  Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?  Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

     Patrick Henry, who first learned his oratory skills by listening to Presbyterian Pastor Samuel Davies, laced his passionate call to arms with allusions to Scripture and that is another lost episode in American history.
