FINAL   EDITION

GREETINGS:

Yes, it’s true; at the end of its 7th year of publication, this is the FINAL EDITION of this newsletter.

Looking back, it has been an amazing journey for me:  What began as a means to enable our county Republican Party Members to stay up to date with what goes on locally, its subscribers found the contents worthy of sharing with folks outside Rhea County, and so this publication grew, and grew, and grew!  So much so that this last issue of The Rhea County Republican will be received by 14,053 readers, not only across the United States, but also in Canada, England, Israel, Portugal, and Russia.

So, why am I ending this newsletter?

Now, in my 77th orbit around the Earth, I reluctantly admit my eyes are not so good (it takes really good eyes to analyze literally hundreds – sometimes thousands – of pages of legislation each month), and I find my many other obligations demand an increasing amount of my time and attention, as well.  (The average amount of time spent on each issue is ~60 hours).  Something had to give, and that “something” was this newsletter.

Before I get on to the really important stuff in this final edition, I’d like to take the opportunity to, once again, convey a most sincere THANK YOU for your loyalty, your participation in the way of engaging with your elected representatives on matters of concern to you, the fact that you have shared this newsletter with your like-minded friends, for all the kind words of encouragement and accolades you have sent my way through the years, and for all the testaments of action you have taken to help Advance the Conservative Cause.

EDITORIAL

Most Republicans call ourselves “Conservatives” but what, precisely, is Conservatism?

Fundamentally, it means we believe in – and seek to preserve – those values held by our Founding Fathers:  a small and frugal government that uses the revenues provided to it through taxation and tariffs of its Citizens only for purposes that are expressed in our Constitution; a government that condones and enables the freedom of every Citizen to achieve (in accordance with their ability and work ethic), all they should desire from the privilege of being Citizens – life, liberty, property, and; the pursuit of happiness – these are only possible if our Natural and God-given rights are honored.

These freedoms are only made possible by establishing and preserving a free market laissez faire economy – one where value is exchanged for value and promoted through a solid and value-based currency – not the fiat currency we have today!

There are, however, attendant obligations, duties, and responsibilities that go along with our rights as Citizens:

We are obliged to honor and obey the just laws of our land.  This means that we must insist that our just laws are upheld and, should we find that certain laws have been enacted that run counter to Justice and Freedom, we have the duty to seek remonstrance.

We have the duty to defend our nation should it be attacked by enemies – either foreign or domestic.

At the same time, we are duty bound to voice our disapproval when our government engages in military actions that are not in response to verifiable threats against our freedoms.

We have the responsibility of participating in our elections – not only by showing up at the polls to vote, but also by studying the issues and the candidates, campaigning for – and otherwise supporting – those candidates and causes of our choice when we personally feel led to do so and then, as informed voters, casting our votes when these issues and candidates appear on ballots.

But, there is more:  We have the responsibility to share our thoughts, ideas, and opinions with those whom we have elected to represent us.

While our elected representatives may be quite intelligent, they certainly are not mind readers, and unless we honor our full responsibilities as a Citizen, those representatives may make choices we do not like or agree with and, once those choices have been made without our commentary, we have no right to criticize our representatives if we failed to let them know our thoughts.  Sadly, if We the People had been fully engaged in the political process (as described above), our Constitutional Republic may well not be in the critical shape we find it in today.

As a nation, it would seem our absence in living up to our responsibilities as Citizens has led to the current cultural, societal, and fiscal dilemma in which we find ourselves today.

By way of examples, those of us who observe and analyze current events are aware of our cultural decline which manifests itself in innumerable ways – from our children being brainwashed and exposed on a daily basis to the most licentious depravity imaginable in our public schools.  We are witness to the misdeeds – and outright criminal behavior – rampant among those who serve in our government – both in the “career service” bureaucracy and in elected office – and we see how this behavior has harmed the citizenry in the way of trillions of dollars in national debt (trillions more dollars in unfunded mandates), our nation’s decline on the world stage, wide open borders through which lethal drugs and criminal aliens flow, rampant looting and violence on our streets (to the point where we find ourselves living in a state of anarchy), in large part because those who have sworn to uphold our just laws release criminals back onto our streets by way of having invoked cashless bail.

In the way of the total absence of a frugal government, most recently we witnessed the passage of a $1.7 Trillion “Omnibus” bill.  In its 4,155 pages were buried some 7,000 “earmarks!”  (See the Legislative Report feature below.)

While there most certainly was much needed – and essential – funding to support projects every patriotic American would agree with, among those 7,000 earmarks were billions of dollars allocated to items with which no sane and fiscally responsible person could ever agree.

However, as the result of decades of wild and reckless and unchecked spending, we find our National Debt has surpassed the $32 Trillion mark and we are “on the hook” for trillions more in the way of “unfunded mandates.”  This debt has been detrimental to our standing on the world stage and now we find the US Dollar being challenged as the “World’s Reserve Currency.”

While we are justified in our grave disappointment – and outright anger – toward our elected representatives for their failure to wisely manage the revenues they confiscate from our earnings, We the People are just as much to blame for we have, by and large, failed to let them know our thoughts – we have failed to meet our responsibilities in the way of instructing them on how we think they should work toward cutting reckless and unnecessary spending, how they should work toward downsizing our bureaucratic and inefficient government, and how they should behave as ethical and fiscally-minded fiduciaries – that is, persons who hold a legal or ethical relationship of trust with those whom they were elected to represent.

On any given day, when we log onto social media, when we watch the news, or just when we engage in conversations with our neighbors and friends, when our conversations turn to politics, at some point the complaints and criticisms we air will include most all of the shortcomings mentioned above yet, when the truth is revealed, we learn that almost none of our neighbors and friends have ever voiced their complaints to those who could make a difference – that is, those whom we have elected to serve and represent us!  When will we learn that whining to one another will change nothing?

The most worn out excuse we hear when we encourage others to voice their complaints to our representatives is:  “They don’t listen, they don’t care what I think” and, to some degree that is true but only because our representatives hear from but a very few of their constituents.

But, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Many years ago, a Chinese General and philosopher by the name of Sun Tzu offered the following observation:  A single drop of rain falling on a mighty mountain goes unnoticed but a million drops of rain washes that mountain into the sea.  This observation conforms with what I learned in a conversation with a staffer who worked for a very well-known and powerful Senator.  In essence, he said:  When the Senator receives a communication (letter or phone call) from a constituent on any given topic, he and his team would process it and address it if they thought it had merit, but when the Senator received a communication from ten, or so, constituents, they made sure it became a part of the Senator’s briefing.  If the Senator received communications from a hundred or so of his constituents on the same topic and with the same demands, it instantly became an action item for the Senator; he would take immediate action and issue a statement to those constituents and to the press covering his actions, as well as to the proper Committee(s) in the Senate and/or House who handled the topic addressed in that communication.  In some cases, the Senator would introduce a bill – or at least a Resolution – to address that issue.

The takeaway is this:  Sharing your thoughts, opinions, ideas, and the actions you have taken with others can be an inspiration to other like-minded Conservatives, and it can compel them to do likewise.

We are all more enlightened as to what is going on in our world because of those who have shared their knowledge.  The information shared among like minded Citizens has often inspired others to become more engaged in the political process, but We the People can do much more if only we commit ourselves to becoming engaged in the political process, and maintaining civil contact with those whom we elect to represent us.  This is the best of all means to motivate them to make the changes we deem appropriate and necessary.   So, how does this strategy work?

We often think of Political Action Committees – PACs – as groupings of like minded Citizens who contribute money to the campaigns of selected political candidates but very few Citizens who make donations understand the principle of joining – or starting – a PAC whose function is to compel their representatives to take a specific action.

By way of example, it was a group of citizens working in one accord who managed to persuade our elected representatives to include a three million dollar earmark for the “Michelle 0bama Hiking Trail” in the most recent “Omnibus” bill.  Another example of success is, of course, lobbyists.

So, here’s the way it works:

  1. Seek out those among your acquaintances to form your own group of Citizens who are committed to invoking change.
  2. Decide on a singular and reasonable topic to be the basis of your effort.
  3. Construct a communication (letter or email) that addresses only that singular topic and follow it up with a phone call.
    1. Each member of your PAC should construct their own written communication but it’s OK to ask others to review it.
    2. The written communication must be clear, concise and, above all, civil.
    3. ALWAYS request a reply.
    4. The verbal communication (phone call) must be delivered clearly (as though it is a “stream of consciousness” narrative), and it must be as brief as possible. (Rehearse what you want to say.  Anticipate – and be prepared to answer – questions from the staffer with whom you speak.)  Again, be civil but nonetheless resolute.
  4. If the members of your group has not received a meaningful reply that clearly addresses the topic of communication within ten working days, send the message again and follow it up with another phone call.
  5. Remember, there is strength in numbers.
  6. The best responses will be obtained when Citizens from several States and Districts contact their sundry representatives so, one is well-advised to reach out as far as possible when forming such a PAC.

Ultimately, we can only hope to preserve those tenets we hold dear to us by serving as sentries who stand guard against those forces who would destroy our rights to exist as free human beings, and the document that protects and preserves our freedoms is our Constitution.  It is incumbent upon every Citizen to do what is necessary to preserve it!  Won’t you join in this worthy effort?

REPUBLICANS WHO VOTED FOR THE OMNIBUS BILL

https://www.newsweek.com/full-list-republican-senators-who-voted-pass-1-7-trillion-omnibus-bill-1769176

The Senate voted to pass a $1.7+ Trillion Omnibus Spending Bill Thursday afternoon with only a day remaining before a deadline that could partially shut down the government.  The margin of the vote was 68/29.

It was not as though passing the Omnibus bill was our government’s only choice; the potential shut down of Federal government could have been avoided had Congress passed a Continuing Resolution that would continue the budgets of all subdivisions of Federal government at their prorated budget levels, but that was simply not to be.  The Democrats (along with their compliant useful idiots on the other side of the aisle) insisted on ramming through yet another monstrosity of a spending package.

To add insult to injury, no one who voted to pass the 4,155 page bill had actually read it in its entirety, and no one who voted to pass the bill seemed genuinely concerned that it contained more than 7,000 earmarks.  Those who voted to pass the bill were only concerned about the earmarks that they had crafted and included in the bill.  (More on that later.)

As quickly as the bill passed in the Senate, Mr. Schumer rushed it over to the House of Representatives, where the bill passed by a margin of 224/211.  (No one in the House had read it either; it was like a replay of Nancy Pelosi’s remarks about the “Affordable” Healthcare Act – they had to pass it so they could find out what’s in it.

Conservative folk thought surely the vote on the Omnibus bill would be determined strictly along party lines but the vote margins in both chambers indicated otherwise – there were some Republicans who betrayed their constituents.  Just who were the traitors?

The short answer is, the traitors are all those Republicans who sold out their Conservative constituents so they could get their earmarks passed.  The Senate “Republicans” who betrayed our trust include:

Roy Blunt – Missouri

John Boozman – Arkansas

Shelley Capito – West Virginia

Susan Collins – Maine

John Cornyn – Texas

Tom Cotton – Arkansas

Lindsey Graham – South Carolina

Jim Inhofe – Oklahoma

Mitch McConnell – Kentucky

Jerry Moran – Kansas

Lisa Murkowski – Alaska

Rob Portman – Ohio

Mitt Romney – Utah (’24 potential challengers Sean Reyes, Jason Chaffetz

Mike Rounds – South Dakota

Richard Shelby – Alabama (Retiring in ’24)

John Thune – South Dakota

Roger Wicker – Mississippi (up for reelection in ’24)

Todd Young – Indiana

Members of the House of Representatives who betrayed our trust include:

Jaime Herrera-Beutler (WA)

Elizabeth “Liz” Cheney (WY)

Tracie Davis (FL)

Brian Fitzpatrick (PA)

Chris Jacobs (NY)

John Katko (NY)

Adam Kinzinger (IL)

Fred Upton (MI) – Retired – Replaced by Bill Huizenga, Jan 2023

Steve Womack (AR)

Looking objectively at the Republicans who voted to pass the Omnibus bill, it is easy to accept the fact that the majority of them would have sold out their constituents for political (and other kinds) of favors – they’ve done it before – but there were a couple of surprises in the crowd – Tom Cotton and Jim Inhofe come to mind and, with their votes on this bill, they have forever tainted their reputations among Conservatives.  The only question at this point is whether they will regret their betrayal when they’re up for reelection.  We must make sure they do!

It’s fairly certain that Richard Shelby (AL) won’t be worried too much; his share of the pork amounted to $640 Million, $13 Million of which will be used to build an airport in Abbeville, Alabama.  (No, I’ve never heard of Abbeville, Alabama, either.)  But, no worries, Mr. Shelby is retiring when his term is over.

Unfortunately, these so-called “Republicans” are in no way concerned for they feel certain that, in two years – when many of them will be up for reelection – the vast majority of their constituents will have forgotten all about that day in December 2022, when they showed us their true colors.  I will not forget!

It didn’t have to be this way, they could have passed a Continuing Resolution, which would held off the vote on next year’s budget, when the Republicans took the majority in the House of Representatives.  Instead, these Republicans joined with the Democrats to push through a heavily bloated Omnibus bill without having even read it.  The Senators who voted to pass it shall forever be remembered as wasteful spenders.

AT WHAT POINT DO WE SAY ENOUGH?

John Droz, Jr.

December 27, 2022

Traditionally this is the time of year where we review our life’s direction, and then make some New Year’s resolution(s). But when do citizens have such a contemplation about America’s directions? IMO we should formally add this to our New Year’s reflections — and it’s long overdue. This is my take on where things currently stand…

The Big Picture is that Communists (e.g., Russia and China) and their allies are in a life-and-death war against Democracies (e.g., US, Europe, etc.).

Let’s briefly step back and see several examples where America’s opponents are attacking, and what successes they have had to date. Hopefully this might focus our attention on areas we will push back against — working together with other like-minded citizens, in effective ways.…

Target: Religion… Strategy: Undermine Judeo-Christian beliefs and morality. Replace these with a new unpublished set of “values,” made up by a collection of stuffed shirts, and enforced by parties with no authority to do so.

Target: Men… Strategy: Emasculate, feminize and weaken men.

Target: Women… Strategy: Defeminize them, undermine the roll of mothers, inflate discrimination claims about them, etc.

Target: Families… Strategy: Redefine what a conventional family is, and undercut its importance.

Target: Education… Strategy: Propagandize children. Emphasize conformity over critical thinking. Undermine Science education. Install grade inflation. Etc.

Target: Initiative… Strategy: Award participation instead of accomplishment.

Target: People… Strategy: The planet’s rights take priority over those of humans. Further, the collective’s rights take priority over individual rights.

Target: Economy… Strategy: Waste enormous sums on foolish political agendas, driven by lobbyists, and not in the best interest of citizens or the country.

Target: Industrialization… Strategy: Corrupt the electric grid with unreliable, expensive renewable energy, while opposing fossil fuels and nuclear energy.

Target: Science… Strategy: Use traitorous “scientists” or “experts” to misdirect real Science analyses, and to confuse the public about what Science really is.

Target: Unity… Strategy: For example, inflame racism to incite discord and distrust among citizens.

Target: Patriotism… Strategy: For example, inject wokism to sabotage citizen support for their country.

Target: Propaganda… Strategy: Have mainstream media be a major source of disinformation and censorship of pro-American information.

Target: Civility… Strategy: The new normal is personal attacks on any who dare to express opinions that differ from current political agendas.

Target: Elections… Strategy: Corrupt the election process so that key legislators are not always elected by citizens. Resist meaningful audits to avoid exposing this.

Target: Legislators… Strategy: Promote petty political agendas that take priority over what is in the best interest of citizens and the country.

Target: Military… Strategy: Use most of the above tactics to weaken our military.

After setting the stage for America’s demise, our opponents then began carefully doing some checks to make sure everything was proceeding according to plan. For example, consider the following tests — all of which have been successful:

  1. Inject in mainstream media (e.g., comic strips, TV, movies) an incessant message demeaning men. Then verify that few notice and fewer yet object: √
  2. Insert anti-American marketing terms into the vocabulary, to see how many citizens will incorporate them into their communications: √
  3. Assess the public’s resistance to anti-democratic decrees by getting states to mandate unscientific, unreliable, uneconomic, harmful energy sources, like industrial wind energy: √
  4. Arrange for taxpayers to heavily subsidize unscientific, unreliable, uneconomic, harmful — but politically favored — energy sources, and see if there is any large-scale pushback: √
  5. After succeeding with #3 & #4, then get states to force US rural citizens (often against their will) to accept non-sensical energy sources into their community: √
  6. Confirm that teachers, parents, legislators and conservative organizations are compliant when (or ignorant of) the Scientific Method is eliminated from the K-12 Science curriculum: √
  7. Verify that teachers, parents and legislators and conservative organizations allow teaching the opposite of Critical Thinking in the K-12 Science curriculum: √
  8. Convince a trusting public that voter ID, machine regulations, meaningful audits, etc. are unnecessary detriments to election integrity. Substantiate their progress by getting a national candidate elected, who barely even campaigned: √
  9. Use their successful climate change script with a manageable virus, to shut down the U.S. economy, and kill hundreds of thousands of Americans (i.e., due to bureaucratic, self-serving and unscientific policies): √
  10. Following #9, ascertain that they can get the majority of US citizens to agree to be injected by an unscientific, unproven, experimental, bio-chemical concoction, with unknown ingredients: √
  11. Following #9, affirm that they can convince almost all mainstream churches to voluntarily agree to disconnect from their flock: √
  12. Establish that the military will agree to undermine its strength by complying with political agendas like green energy, mandated injections, wokeness, etc: √

IMO we are like lobsters in a pot where the temperature is gradually increasing. We have been warned before (e.g., see here, here and here). Had enough yet?

Interestingly, Critical Thinking concludes that almost all of these issues are due to the real war we are all immersed in: Pro-God vs No-God forces. The good news — and Christmas should remind us of this — is that God can solve ALL of the above.

One of my primary life philosophies is: “Work as if everything depended on me, but pray as if everything depended on God.” The ball is in our court…

GEORG HEGEL, DUE PROCESS, AND YOUR FUTURE

Dr. Dan Eichenbaum

As the last stronghold of the free market and the Natural Law rights of the individual, America is the epicenter of World War III, the Battle for control of Earth.

Our Constitution is a written contract that formed a federal government with specified limited powers and defined its relationship to the states and their citizens.  Even more important, the Bill of Rights requires the federal government to protect and secure the Natural Law Rights of the states and their citizens.  That guarantee is what prevents the enactment of the entire collectivist agenda.  The Bill of Rights is the roadblock to socialism and any attempt by the government to enslave its citizens.  For that very reason, the global elite knows they must destroy the Bill of Rights.

In 1776, regular people like you and me threw off the yoke of tyranny to embrace individual freedom and the Natural Law Rights that are our divine inheritance. The descendants of kings and queens of the 19th Century and their wealthy enablers, however, are attempting to take back control of our planet and all its inhabitants. The guidebook for their agenda is the Communist Manifesto and the tool to destroy individual rights is the Hegelian Dialectic.

It all started with Karl Marx, Frederich Engels, and Geog Hegel in 1847 as the London Communist League and, after Marx’s death, with the Fabian Socialist Society.  Those concepts were adopted by the American Progressive movement in the early 20th Century by the wealthy scions of industry and banking families in the northeast.  These early American socialists were able to use their money and political influence to start a war against the private property rights and the sovereignty of the individual. The Hippies of the 1960’s became the teachers and professors of several generations of young brainwashed American kids who became the foot soldiers in the insurgency to gain control of the systems of our government.

The Hegelian Dialectic forces opposing groups to reach a consensus through dialogue, compromise, and, if necessary, intimidation.  The resolution of each conflict by consensus advances the collectivist agenda.  To begin the process, the progressive collectivists propose an extreme modification (Antithesis) to our current policy (Thesis).  When we object, they offer a concession (Synthesis) that moves us closer to their objective.  We compromised on every issue to avoid the stress and discomfort that is a necessary part of drawing a non-negotiable line in the sand.

The Hegelian Dialectic only works if society is divided into groups.  In a cohesive society, the loyalty of the people is to the entire nation and its goals.  During the era of European emigration to America, our nation was described as a “Melting Pot”.  The different flavors of immigrants from all over the world melted together and created a fondue of unique essence.  The individual ingredients, however, could not be distinguished or separated from the whole.  The concepts of equal justice under the law and equal opportunity, but not equal outcomes, were derived from the constitutional guarantee to protect and secure the Natural Law Rights of every individual, even a minority of one.

The progressive agenda requires dividing the population into special interest groups to create conflict which is then solved by compromise and consensus.  America, therefore, has now become a salad bowl.  Each ingredient, while part of the entire salad, is easily recognized for what it is and can be assigned to a specific group.  A legislator seeking reelection chooses to take something of value from one vegetable group and vows to give the proceeds to vegetables of a larger group.

The key here is that solutions reached by compromise and consensus-building reflect the views of the majority which disregards the rights of those holding the minority view.  Majority rule, of course, is a basis of Democracy, in which individual rights are ignored.  For Marx and Hegel, Democracy was a mechanism for decisions to be reached through mob rule, a tool to enslave us all in a “dictatorship of the proletariat.”

In the past two years, we have seen a constant attack on and a significant erosion of our Natural Law Rights guaranteed by our Constitution.  The institutions of government designed to protect individual and state rights have been corrupted by citizens and groups with the financial ability to influence elected officials and bureaucrats.  Several years ago, Susan Collins, a senator from Maine, spent $90 million to get reelected, and she was outspent by her Democrat challenger.  The question in everyone’s minds should be, “Who spends $90 million to get a job that pays $175,000 per year?”

The obvious answer is that financial supporters gain direct access to the engine of government.  Sometimes, access leads to good outcomes for the country.  More often, access generates a payoff in the form of laws, rules, goods, and services that will enrich the person or group who donates the money.

Corruption enriches some while draining resources for everyone else.  As corruption increases, the costs are paid in loss of freedom and lifestyle for We the People.  Those with access are usually so wealthy that they are immune to the financial burdens placed on others.  This hypocrisy should be obvious to everyone, but so many of our fellow citizens are too self-absorbed or ignorant of the facts to care.

Article V of the Constitution is the only section that provides a method to amend any part of that document.  Nevertheless, the collectivists have devised an alternative to achieve their goals.  They have succeeded by corrupting the federal court system at all levels, even the Supreme Court.  Judges in the court system were supposed to be learned and impartial jurists who base decisions on the written words of the Constitution.  Instead, presidents since FDR have either packed the federal judiciary with judges who agree with their political agendas or bullied the courts to support their political goals.  Basing decisions on precedent rather than the words of the Constitution moves federal court rulings one step further away from the written law.  When a federal judge’s ruling contradicts the Constitution, that judge, in essence, is amending the Constitution illegally.

One of the primary issues being used to destroy the legal foundation of our nation as well as our economy and lifestyle is Climate Change and the Green Agenda.

Several months ago, in a small group of people, the subject of Climate Change came up.  In passing, I made a remark that Climate Change is a world-class hoax to promote the globalist agenda by instilling false fear in the population.  One of those present chided me for minimizing what he considered to be an existential threat to human life on earth.

In considering my comments later, I realized that Climate Change is very real and has been a constant part of earth’s history since our planet was formed approximately two billion years ago.  A geologist who was a guest on Freedom Forum Radio several years ago mentioned that the surface temperature on earth at one point was 430,000 degrees.  A great deal of climate change has certainly occurred since that time.  Where we are sitting right now was covered by a glacier two miles thick a mere 20,000 years ago, which is a tiny blip in time considering the two-billion-year age estimate of our planet.

And so, Climate Change is not a hoax at all.

The hoax is that, in our collective arrogance, humanity believes that we have the power to abort or modify alterations in the earth’s ecosystem caused by forces well beyond our understanding and control.

The single largest greenhouse gas is water vapor which constitutes 95% of the total greenhouse gases in our atmosphere.  Of the remaining 5% non-water vapor gases, mankind’s contribution is only 6%.  The math (.05 x .06 = .003) is clear that man-made greenhouse gases constitute only 0.3% of the total, an amount that is incapable of having any significant effect on the Earth’s temperature.  Yet our government is demanding that we must eliminate that tiny amount of man-made greenhouse gas in order to change the trajectory of climate change.

Clearly, the idea that mankind has any tool at all that could alter the trajectory of earth’s climate or that of our solar system is a fantasy.

That fantasy is not part of the normal thought processes of most people.  Global warming, global cooling, climate change, or whatever you want to call has been used by the left as a tool to produce a state of generalized fear for the future of life on earth.

The proposed cure, however, is the cruel deception that we can save planet Earth by giving up our lifestyle and our individual freedom.  The collectivist elite has sold this fantasy to the gullible and ignorant masses who are racing down the rabbit hole of global tyranny oblivious to the catastrophe that awaits them.

My recent interview with Jerry Hawkins is a good example of America’s descent into a totalitarian state.  Jerry Hawkins‘ home was raided on April 14, 2021, by federal agents in full tactical gear with automatic rifles. Here is his story in his own words.

In the pre-dawn hours of April 14th, 2021, a swarm of Federal Agents from several agencies raided our home and property. I was approached in our back yard by several agents in full tactical gear with automatic rifles aimed at me, at the same time my wife was confronted at our front door by several more agents in full tactical gear and automatic rifles who were in the process of breaking into our home.

What horrendous crime could warrant such action? The unsubstantiated accusation that my home-based business was manufacturing and selling unregistered firearm parts.

Based on these unsubstantiated accusations, our bank accounts were emptied, businesses shut down or crippled, all money was seized from the home including the precious metals and rolled coins that were our life savings, and all electronics.

No firearms were seized but parts and inventory relating to the alleged items as well as items not on the warrant were seized and taken. This included parts of rain collection systems and vacuum pump systems that were taken and catalogued as illegal firearms.

The primary questions my wife and I were asked were about where the money was. It almost seemed as though the accusations were just a vehicle to seize the money.

Unfortunately, they have learned to manipulate the laws and the system so that after 18 months, no grand jury has been convened, no criminal charges have been filed, property has not been returned, and we have been blocked from going to court by a judge who gave the government an indefinite stay of prosecution.

We do not know if Jerry Hawkins is guilty of manufacturing illegal gun parts or if he is an innocent victim of ATF overreach.  We do not know if the ATF seizure of his bank accounts and personal funds, the destruction of his business, and the disruption of his personal life and his ability to earn a living were justified or not.

And that is precisely the problem.

Eighteen months after the ATF raid, Jerry Hawkins, his wife, and his family are in limbo.  His guilt or innocence has never been adjudicated in a court of law.  Jerry Hawkins has been denied his Due Process rights as required by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

It is intolerable in a civilized society when the Due Process rights of individuals are ignored or abused by law enforcement and the judicial system.

When our government and judicial system are allowed to unilaterally suspend the Habeas Corpus and Due Process requirements in the Constitution and Bill of Rights to achieve a political agenda, we are no longer a “Nation of Laws”.  We are, in fact, no better than the dictatorships, past and present, whose violations of human rights we now condemn.

The Holocaust in Nazi Germany during World War II happened to people just like each of us, people who couldn’t bring themselves to believe that their so-called “civilized” government would be capable of perpetrating war crimes and genocide against its own citizens.

We are now involved in World War III.  It’s all about access to government by the wealthy global elite whose greed, hypocrisy, and arrogance have caused an insurmountable global divide.  No matter what happens to us, they will survive and prosper.

Money controls all the actions of government, here and abroad.  In America, the cost of running a successful campaign for public office is beyond the reach of most individuals and far exceeds the nominal financial value of holding that office

The decisions and votes of elected officials are bought and paid for by those who contribute to their campaigns.

Legislation, Executive actions, and legal decisions are based on political agendas rather than ethical constitutional principles

Special interest groups and the wealthy use their money to gain access to the mechanisms of government and to promote programs that destroy the financial well-being of the people.

For members of the wealthy elite, there is no accountability for breaking the law or causing harm to others

The elite control the media which emits a constant stream of lies and preaches a socialist agenda to the useful idiots of our time who don’t realize that they will be the sacrificial lambs when world socialism is achieved

And that’s just a partial list.

We must now become the insurgents if we want to protect our freedom and the future of our children and grandchildren.  We must win over the hearts and minds of two generations of Americans who have been brainwashed to believe that a few crumbs and promises from the globalists are worth giving up their freedom.

We can no longer afford to sit on the couch and complain about the failings of the federal government or the future course on which our nation is headed.

Let’s vow to make 2023 the year of action to save our nation and the world from the scourge of collectivism.  Acta non-Verba. It’s time for action . . . not words.

Resist Tyranny and Trust in Freedom.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

The Israeli Army recently shot down an Iranian drone.  Along with representatives from the U.S. military, they disassembled the drone and found 82% of the components were manufactured in the United States. (Varney & Company, Fox Business Network, 22 December, 2022)

RANDOM THOUGHTS

The “Omnibus bill,” supported by both Charles Schumer and Mitch McConnell, is 4,155 pages in length, it will cost the U.S. Taxpayer more than $1.7 Trillion, and contains more than 7,500 earmarks.  One of those earmarks is a $3.6 Million grant to create the “Michelle Obama Trail.”

RANDOM THOUGHTS

As we marked the 59th year since John F. Kennedy was assassinated (22 November 1963), we read that an FBI employee leaked information that the CIA was involved in the assassination.  (Many people suspected as much!)  The most curious revelation was that the FBI threatened to prosecute the leaker – not for lying about the CIA, but for revealing classified information!

MERRICK GARLAND’S GREATEST SUCCESS

Kris Bancroft, Editor

In considering Merrick Garland’s occupancy of the Office of the Attorney General of the United States, we find ourselves inclined to offer harsh criticisms, but an objective analysis of his tenure would reveal he has accomplished what some have come to realize as his most important task with a truly amazing level of proficiency.

With respect to his failures – there have been more than a few – he has no viable excuse to offer.  He, after all, inherited a Justice Department that had worked to reduce crime while maintaining the rule of law and protect the civil liberties of all Citizens of the United States.

To be more specific, Mr. Garland began his job at a time when drug trafficking in the United States was actually on the decline.  Today, the DEA is overwhelmed and has no meaningful plan for stopping the flow of drugs across the United States.  The result of Mr. Garland’s failure to halt drug use has resulted in an exponential increase in the number of drug deaths in the United States.  How bad is it?  Fentanyl alone accounted for more than 300,000 deaths of Americans last year; drug use is the number one cause of death among the 18-45 age group of American Citizens.  Mr. Garland’s excuse has been to blame (non-specifically of course) Alejandro Mayorkas, his peer over at the Department of Homeland Security.

Mr. Garland assumed his title at a time when violent crime was actually on the decline. Today, crime – especially violent crime –continues to rise at an alarming rate and our civil liberties are endangered.  Mr. Garland’s response has been focused on targeting lawful gun owners.

These, and all of Mr. Garland’s other failures are being (gleefully?) ignored by the Biden Regime because Mr. Garland has succeeded in protecting the Biden Crime Family from any semblance of prosecution or even the mildest scrutiny.  These crimes – including the use of the Office of the Vice President for personal gain – violations of the Emoluments Clause, bribery, the mishandling of classified documents, and many others – have resulted in a grand total of ZERO indictments.

Today, we find ourselves wondering whether Mr. Biden, his family, and his cohorts will ever face Justice and Prosecution.  Given what we know at this point, our answer can only be:  I doubt it!  It would seem then that Justice in America is dead, and when there is no longer any Justice to be found, we are compelled to admit the United States of America is in a state of full-blown Anarchy.

Senator Marsha Blackburn responds RE: an appeal to vote against S.4 The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021

Dear Kris,

Thank you for contacting me regarding S.4, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021. I appreciate your taking the time to share your views with me.

In 2013, the Supreme Court struck down the coverage formula in the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA) that required certain jurisdictions to seek preclearance from the Department of Justice before making changes to state election laws. The Supreme Court ruled the selective coverage formula conflicted with fundamental principles of equal sovereignty among states.

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) introduced the S.4 on October 5, 2021. This bill would amend the VRA to include a new coverage formula and revive the preclearance procedure. Additionally, the bill would impose a nationwide preclearance requirement for certain measures, such as drawing new electoral maps, implementing voter identification laws, and making changes to polling locations. In November 2021, the Senate voted on a procedural motion to proceed to the consideration of S.4, but the motion did not overcome a filibuster and failed by a vote of 50-49. I voted to oppose this legislation because it would unfairly infringe on state sovereignty and impede the ability of states to oppose voter fraud.

I appreciate your thoughtful comments. As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I will keep your thoughts in mind should any legislation that affects our constitutional rights come before the full Senate.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me.  If you would like regular updates on my work for Tennessee, please sign up for my weekly newsletter or follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Sincerely,

Marsha Blackburn

United States Senator

[Note:  On November 3rd, 2022, a vote on S. 4 was taken in the Senate.  The bill passed along party lines by a vote of 50-49.  Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD), was the only Republican to not vote. – Editor]

Paul Gosar (R-AZ-04) commented on Mr. Biden’s holiday news dump on November Border Crossings after the Biden regime released new data showing that a record 233,740 illegal aliens illegally crossed the southern border in November 2022, making it the worst November on record:

“On Christmas weekend and mere hours after Congress shamelessly passed the $1.7 trillion omnibus bill sending billions of dollars to foreign countries for border security, the Biden regime announced that 233,740 illegals crossed our border last month.  To put this into perspective, that is enough lawbreakers to fill State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, more than 3.5 times.

“Things are only going to get worse.  The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) projects 14,000 illegals per day, or 420,000 per month, will soon cross the southern border once Title 42 orders expire.

“In 2018, nearly 30 million illegal aliens were living in the United States, according to a study conducted by Yale University.  Since Biden took office, DHS reports another five million lawbreakers have crossed into our country bringing the total number of illegals currently living in America to over 35 million.

“That number is likely much higher when factoring in chain migration, “gotaways” and the significant undercounting of illegal aliens.  Sadly, Senate Democrats and even some Republicans are renewing their calls to grant amnesty to millions of people living in America illegally.  This is lunacy.  Amnesty only serves to encourage illegals to stay in the United States while simultaneously green lighting more to cross our southern border.

“It’s abundantly clear that Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress are intent on allowing as many illegal aliens as possible into our country.  Rather than considering amnesty legislation for lawbreakers, Republicans in Congress must fight to secure our border and it begins with impeaching Department of Homeland Secretary Mayorkas for his failures to secure the border and protect Americans.”

bousle19@comcast.net sent the following letter via Cyril Ostiguy, Chairman, Carroll County Republican Party:

Fellow County Chairs:

We are facing the possible removal of Title 42.  I encourage you to contact our congressmen, senators and governor about this issue.  The Biden administration has already shipped thousands of illegal aliens to Tennessee and will ship thousands more.  What right does the federal government have to use Tennessee as a dumping ground for those they allow to illegally enter our country?  What is the state of Tennessee doing to stop illegals from coming to Tennessee and being a drag on state finances and the tax money the citizens give to the state?  Why would the state allow a single illegal alien to reside in Tennessee?  Why would the state allow a single illegal alien to receive public funds or live on the taxes Tennesseans pay?  Why is Title 42 the only thing in place to allow illegals to be sent back to Mexico or their country of origin?  We had laws before [COVID], what happened to those laws?  We are being flim-flamed by our federal government and our politicians are happy to send harsh letters about it but where is the real action to stop it?

The federal government is ignoring the United States Constitution and so far nobody is doing anything to stop it!  Why isn’t the National Guard being employed to protect the state from illegals?  What is the Tennessee highway patrol doing to keep illegals out of our state?  What is the Governor doing to keep illegals and their drugs out of Tennessee.  How many Tennesseans died this past year from drugs being run into our country and our state by the cartels the federal government is supporting by allowing them to bring drugs across the border!!!  We have a border and nobody should be allowed to cross it illegally. Not one person!!!  They should have to apply for admission and not be admitted until they have been vetted and each and every one that is allowed to legally enter our country should have a skill or something they will benefit our society with.  We don’t need to be a dumping ground for illiterates and prisoners other countries want to remove from their society.  When did we become the world’s trash can?  This is the United States of America and we need to keep it strong!!  What are you willing to do to save our country??  We are the Republican Party in Tennessee and we have a duty to stand up for the citizens of Tennessee even if the Federal government won’t! If our Republican leaders won’t actually do something to save our county then they need to be replaced.

Chiron Venizelos, Luminarie, TN

You may have heard the House Republicans released a report about a week ago (click on the link below) that drew conclusions based on hard evidence about the events leading up to and including January 6, 2021.  For those who may not know, the Speaker of the House, Pelosi is solely responsible for the security and safety of the facility, the members and staff.  The Sergeant at Arms is supposed to protect the Capitol and works with the Speaker to ensure law and order.  It was suspected, and known by some that over two years ago, that Nancy Pelosi had more to do with the violence on January 6th than almost any other person.

As it turns out, in the days before January 6, law enforcement personnel had many meetings with her and her team and warned them well in advance that there would be some bad actors coming to disrupt President Trump’s speech and peaceful rally.   Instead of acting on this information, Pelosi intentionally ignored it.   Some say she was hoping for violence to make President Trump look bad.   Indeed, on January 6th itself, Pelosi was caught on film threatening to hit and attack President Trump.  Thus, violence was to her a solution and a way to vent her anger at President Trump’s successful term in office.

Instead of warning members of Congress that members from Antifa, left-wing agitators and right-wing provocateurs were planning on attending to cause disruptions and violence, Pelosi did nothing.  Not one call.  Not one email.  Not so much as a text to alert other members of Congress, thus putting all of them in jeopardy.

To make matters even worse, she intentionally rejected the calls for additional law enforcement, including the National Guard.  Furthermore, Pelosi and the Sergeant at Arms plotted together to exclude any Republican from attending one of the security meetings.  In this manner, they wanted to exploit the violence and use it against Republicans and endanger everyone’s life.  In addition, Pelosi failed to equip and train the Capitol Police adequately, leading to a poor security situation and lack of crowd control that day.

To summarize, Pelosi intentionally denied security efforts, plotted in secret to harm President Trump, failed to train and equip law enforcement, and thus played a pivotal role in the violence that day.  Had proper security steps been taken, there would have not been a riot or an incursion into the Capitol.

It is long past time for our (mostly) spineless Republicans to do their work on this matter and provide criminal referrals to the Department of Justice to determine what charges and sanctions should be imposed against Pelosi for her collusion, plotting and role in the violence that day.  As well as her threats to physically harm President Trump.  Even worse was her conversations with General Milley and their joint plot for a military coup against President Trump.

Our Republic cannot withstand fifth columns like Milley and Pelosi.  They need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law for their behavor and I therefore urge all who read this to contact their representatives to DEMAND they do the work we elected them to do.

Clive Ensford-Stroud, Basildon, Essex, England

We in the UK hear the frequent reports of how things are going with our Yank friends across the pond.  Yes, the past few years, and especially the last two years, have been a bit rough for you but, believe me, if you look elsewhere around the globe, you’ll quickly see that the USA is still top-shelf on the world stage.  The trouble is, I’m afraid it won’t be for long!  As things are currently going for you, I would estimate that within ten years, you’ll wake up to find yourselves where we are now.  As for where we might be then, I’m afraid to guess!

When I was a child, our government decided it should do more for the “public good,” and it started many programmes to achieve that desire.  One in particular was the National Health Service (NHS) – a scheme that ensured all Britons, regardless of their ability to pay for it, should have access to “free” healthcare.

At first, the NHS seemed to work well but there were budgetary issues that were impossible to surmount and so choices were forced upon it that, in turn, forced medical staffs to pick and choose on the basis of severest need.  As one might expect, some patients’ needs were determined to be greater than others and, yes, some of those determinations were made on the basis of social status.

As for the rest of our population, we observed that many – and often severe – cases went untreated.

To save money, our NHS administrators imposed restrictions on the use of medical supplies and even limits on how much time doctors could spend with hospitalised patients.  The innumerable forms the doctors had to fill out each day reduced the face-to-face time they spent with patients to as little as three minutes for each one.  Our doctors, of course, would often exceed those time restraints in an effort to ensure their patients received the attention they needed but, as one might imagine, our doctors found themselves working sixty to eighty hours per week!  Many of our doctors suffered burnout from all this and left their practice altogether.

This increased shortage of doctors only made matters worse for those who remained in the medical field and so, to relieve this shortage, our NHS established criteria that either severely limited the amount of attention each patient should receive.  In cases (there were many) where patients were deemed to be “terminal,” medical treatment (with the exception of mind-numbing pain relievers), was withdrawn altogether.

We Brits thought it couldn’t possibly get worse but it did.  Matters reached the point where many of us Brits – those who could afford to do so – sought “private” treatment here in the UK (paid for from their own resources), or simply traveled to the US for treatment.

Eventually, and following suit with certain Scandinavian countries, China, Russia, and the several “third world” countries around the globe, our NHS decided it was in the best interest of “all” that terminal patients should be afforded the “opportunity” to choose a course of life-ending treatment – euthanasia!

As it was at first in the aforementioned countries, in the UK, this choice is presently just that – a choice to be made by the patient or the patient’s family – but in those aforementioned countries there remains no choice at all!

Today, we see what’s coming and it’s both frightening and sickening, and it has served only to exacerbate an already bad situation.  Today, we see even more of our overstressed medical professionals leaving their jobs citing ethical reasons as the cause.  In truth, these good and caring people who studied hard to learn their medical skills cannot permit themselves to make those horrible choices the NHS is forcing upon them.

I say all that to say this:  Today, you have your Affordable Healthcare Act – “Obamacare” – and I assure you, in spite of the many promises you may have heard, it will eventually turn out to be just as rotten as our NHS.

S 5273 A bill to require a determination of whether certain Chinese entities are responsible for human rights abuses that meet the criteria for the imposition of sanctions under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act or the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2020 (Marco Rubio, R-FL, Text not yet available).

Eventually, we must find ourselves at the point where we no longer do business with China.  Perhaps we are there already.

S 5269 A bill to prohibit the Department of Defense from requiring contractors to provide information relating to greenhouse gas emissions (John Hoeven, R-ND, Text not yet available).

Those who contract with government – especially with the Federal government – know that more hoops to jump through drives up costs.  Requiring contractors to provide a reasonable estimate on the quantities of their “greenhouse” emissions would do just that and the Taxpayers would have to pay more for everything the government hires done.

++S 5267 A bill to require the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network to issue guidance on digital assets, and for other purposes.(Elizabeth Warren, D-MA, Text not yet available).

Might this bill have something to do with covering up the recent revelation involving Samuel Bankman-Fried and his donations to certain politicians?  Hmm.

++S 5275 A bill to require that certain aspects of bridge projects be carried out by certified contractors, and for other purposes (Robert Casey, D-PA, Text not yet available).

And hey, guess what!  Being a “certified” contractor means employing only unionized workers.

S 5265 A bill to require a strategy for countering the People’s Republic of China (Marco Rubio, R-FL, Text not yet available).

It’s about time Senator.

+++S 5281 A bill to amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to promote the matriculation, and increase in the graduation rates, of individuals with disabilities within higher education (Robert Casey, D-PA, Text not yet available).

So, if students cannot learn the subject material, Mr. Casey proposes to simply lower the standards so the graduation rate doesn’t suffer.  R-i-g-h-t, just what we need:  Advance mediocrity.

++++S 5271 A bill to establish the American Worker Retirement Plan, improve the financial security of working Americans by facilitating the accumulation of wealth, and for other purposes (John Hickenlooper, D-CO, Text not yet available).

Ah, yes, socialism at its finest!  (Dear Mr. Hickenlooper:  We already have a means by which the American worker can “accumulate wealth;” it’s called “working hard, using one’s money wisely, and saving it in any of various 401k or IRA programs.”

++S 5264 A bill to amend the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956 to prohibit bank holding companies from facilitating fossil fuel production from new sources, or from facilitating transactions that would provide funds for the construction of new or expanded fossil infrastructure that would drive such production and for other purposes (Jeff Merkley, D-OR, Text not yet available).

Mr. Merkley is vying for membership in “The Squad.”

+++S. 5270 A bill to amend title 13, United States Code, to imporve the operations of the Bureau of the Census, and for other purposes (Brian Schatz, D-HI, Text not yet available).

Does “improve” mean counting all non-citizens for the purpose of determining the numbers of Members of the House of Representatives?  By golly, I believe it does!

+++++ S.J.Res. 67 A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relative to the fundamental right to vote (Dick Durbin, D-IL, 1 page).

Mr. Durbin proposes to change the Constitution to provide persons who have been convicted of a felony the privilege of voting.

+++++ S.J.Res. 69 A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to abolish the electoral college and to provide for the direct election of the President and Vice President of the United States (Jeff Merkley, D-OR, 2 pages).

Such an amendment would truly destroy our Constitutional Republic.

++++S 5299 A bill to end the epidemic of gun violence and build safer communities by strengthening Federal firearms laws and supporting gun violence research, intervention, and prevention initiatives (Elizabeth Warren, D-MA, Text not yet available).

The woman doesn’t have a clue!

++++S 5293 A bill to provide for the designation of areas as Health Enterprise Zones to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes in such areas, and for other purposes (Alex Padilla, D-CA, Text not yet available).

Mr. Padilla wants the Taxpayers to fund drug treatment clinics in those areas where drugs are being used on the streets of Democrat-run cities.

++HR 9653 To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to provide basic and emergency supplemental living assistance grants under the student support services program (Danny Davis, D-IL, Text not yet available).

Obviously, Mr. Davis not only wishes to pay the tuition for students pursuing college degrees, he wants to relieve them of the burden of being cooped up in those on-campus dormitories and provide them with free rent for their apartments.

++HR 9648 To establish, maintain, and expand frequent, reliable, interconnected electric bus rapid transit service to expand racial, economic, and environmental justice (Cori Bush, D-MO, Text not yet available).

There is an invariable theme to the majority of all legislation proposed by Ms. Bush.

++HR 9647 To establish, maintain, and expand frequent, reliable, interconnected light rail transit service to expand racial, economic, and environmental justice, and for other purposes (Cori Bush, D-MO, Text not yet available).

Buses alone aren’t good enough for Ms. Bush, her bill demands that we must pay for historically inefficient and costly light rail service for areas where the vast majority of inhabitants do not have a legitimate purpose to use them.

+++++HR 9645 To cap the emissions of greenhouse gases through a requirement to purchase carbon permits, to distribute the proceeds of such purchases to eligible individuals, and for other purposes (Donald Beyer, D-VA, Text not yet available), and a bill with the same title +++++S 5338 (Chris Van Hollen, D-MD, Text not yet available).

Mr. Beyer and Mr. Van Hollen are loyal soldiers in the anti-fossil fuel army and they are proving it by proposing that anyone who dares to drive a gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicle shall be forced to pay for a carbon emissions permit.

+++++HR 9506 To prohibit a the use or declaration of a public health emergency with respect to abortion, and for other purposes (Kevin Hern, R-OK, Text not yet available).

Do you think it constitutes a “Public Health Emergency” if there is not an abortion clinic within walking distance of anyone who may want an abortion?  Apparently, Representative Hern agrees with you.

++++HR 9641 To amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to support the responsible development of offshore renewable energy projects, establish the Offshore Power Administration, and for other purposes (Paul Tonko, D-NY, Text not yet available).

So, Mr. Tonko proposes to install expensive and inefficient windmills offshore but, as a member of the House Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, he wants to outlaw drilling for oil and gas offshore.

+++HR 9640 Presidential Tax Filings and Audit Transparency Act of 2022 (Richard Neal, D-MA, 16 pages).

This bill is aimed at Donald Trump – it’s a part of the continuing “witch hunt” that was launched back in 2015, in which the Democrats and other anti-Americans have been unrelenting – but, indications are that the Democrats’ attempt to destroy a man who well-served our nation while continually under attack by a divisive and destructive group of politicians and “Deep State” swamp creatures has produced nothing – nothing! – that could be interpreted in a court of law as criminal behavior.  If there is something good about this bill, perhaps it opens a possibility that some future legislation could be passed that would  is reveal the facts about the Biden, 0bama, and Clinton regimes.

+++HR 9644 To require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award a contract to an eligible nonprofit entity to establish and maintain a health care claims database for purposes of lowering Americans’ health care costs, and for other purposes (Donald Beyer, D-VA, Text not yet available).

Wait!  Let me guess:  Has Mr. Beyer already identified that “eligible” nonprofit entity he speaks of?  Did Mr. Beyer write his bill so only his previously identified “eligible” nonprofit could pass muster according to his bill?  Hmmm . . . sort of makes one wonder, doesn’t it?

+++++HR 9664 To direct the Federal Communications Commission to amend part 97.307(f) of title 47, Code of Federal Regulations, to allow greater flexibility in data communications in the amateur radio service, and for other purposes (Debbie Lesko, R-AZ, Text not yet available).

I am certain Ms. Lesko must be a charming and intelligent young lady but, considering all the problems and all the challenges in our world today, it would seem that she could find something, somewhere, vastly more important than to create a Federal law allowing amateur radio operators more flexibility in their transmitting of data.

++++HR 9664 To amend the Federal Reserve Act to require Federal Reserve banks to interview at least one individual reflective of gender diversity and one individual reflective of racial or ethnic diversity when appointing Federal Reserve bank presidents, and for other purposes (Joyce Beatty, D-OH, Text not yet available).

Whatever happened to the idea that such appointees must be chosen from those individuals who are the best qualified for the positions for which they are appointed?  The idea of a Meritocracy is dead.

++++HR 9624 To end the epidemic of gun violence and build safer communities by strengthening Federal firearms laws and supporting gun violence research, intervention, and prevention initiatives (Hank Johnson, D-GA, Text not yet available).

The never-ending assault on our rights under the 2nd Amendment continues.

++++HR 9620 To support reparations for victims of human rights violations associated with projects financed by international financial institutions (Jesus Garcia, D-IL, Text not yet available)

That’s right my fellow Americans, our pal “Chuy” thinks American taxpayers should be on the hook to pay for “reparations” to anyone who has been duped by some foreign-based financial institution.  Apparently, that old axiom “Caveat Emptor” has been retired and no one should ever need to worry about reading the “fine print” ever again.

+HR 9634 To Protect Access to Kratom (Mark Pocan, D-WI, Text not yet available).  Mike Lee, R-UT has introduced a bill for the same purpose – ++S 5316.

I admit my ignorance; I had no idea what “Kratom” is, and no idea as to why anyone would want to protect access to it, so I decided to spare you the trouble of researching it for yourselves and found interesting information at the links below.  The only question I cannot answer is why Mr. Pocan too the trouble to write a bill to protect access to a quasi-opioid-hallucinogenic product.  Could this be the reason why we so often find ourselves questioning the sanity of Democrats?

++HR 9629 To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to impose a tax on employers whose employees receive certain Federal benefits (Ro Khanna, D-CA, Text not yet available.

So, here’s how Mr. Khanna’s game works:  Let’s say an employer gives a minimum wage job to an individual with several dependents, but only pays the employee a minimum salary because that’s all the money said employee is worth to the employer.  Since the employee to whom the employer offered an opportunity to work at their enterprise qualifies for “public” assistance due to their numerous dependents and low salary; Mr. Khanna is proposing to punish that employer by levying a tax on them (which may or may not be transferred to the minimum wage employee in question), because the employer made the mistake of hiring someone with many dependents who was not worthy of a salary high enough to disqualify them from “public” assistance.  (If Congress should be dumb enough to pass Mr. Khanna’s bill, the next thing we will see is legislation that forces an employer to prove a person was not offered a job because they had too many dependents.)

++S 5305 A bill to prohibit drilling in the Arctic Ocean (Jeff Merkley, D-OR, Text not yet available).

Mr. Merkley proposes to leave the resources in ANWR – some of the lighest crude oil to be found on Earth, and let it scooped up by the Russians.  Yep, he’s a Democrat!

+S 5302 A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to increase the limitations on contributions to health savings accounts, and for other purposes (Rand Paul, R-KY, Text not yet available).

This bill would benefit many of middle class and low income Citizens.

++++HR 9678 To ensure 100 percent renewable electricity, zero emission vehicles, and regenerative agriculture by 2030 to address global warming caused by human activity (Adriano Espiallat, D-NY, Text not yet available).

At what cost?

++HR 9679 To increase the number of manufacturers registered under the Controlled Substances Act to manufacture cannabis for legitimate research purposes, to authorize health care providers of the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide recommendations to veterans regarding participation in federally approved cannabis clinical trials, and for other purposes (Matt Gaetz, R-FL, Text not yet available).

Mr. Gaetz is encouraging the general acceptance of legalized drug use; at a time when it is most critical that our minds must be clear and sharp, he is proposing to muddle our reasoning ability with drugs.  This will not end well!

+++HR 9685 To provide for the admission and protection of refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable individuals, to provide for the processing of refugees and asylum seekers in the Western Hemisphere, and to modify certain special immigrant visa programs, and for other purposes (Zoe Lofgren, D-CA, Text not yet available).

“Tugboat” Zoe is actively vying with Mr. Biden for recognition as one who is best at taking a bad situation and making it worse.  This bill would, if passed, be the final nail in the coffin of destroying the United States of America – a country without a border isn’t a “country.”

+++++HR 9686 To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the making of short-term, Buy Now, Pay Later loans for the purchase of semiautomatic assault weapons (Tom Mailinowski, D-NJ, Text not yet available).

Taking into consideration that everyone who purchases a firearm must first pass a rigorous background check, please consider these two important facts:  1. The only way that many working class people can afford to purchase a firearm is on a “layaway” basis, and 2. The Ultra-Leftist elected to “represent” The People will do anything within their power to deny the Citizen of their God-given rights!

+++++HR 9683 To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to expand the definition of “engage in terrorist activity”, and for other purposes (Clay Higgins,  R-LA,  Text not yet available).

In that fentanyl transported into the US from Mexico killed >100,000 American Citizens last year, Representative Higgins proposes to make the manufacturing and transport of fentanhyl an act of terrorism.  (Sounds like a plan!)

+++HR 9677 To increase the aggregate limitation on grants to low-income taxpayer clinics, and for other purposes (Danny Davis, D-IL, Text not yet available).

Mr. Davis is really good at confiscating the earnings of American Citizens and pouring it down the sewer of the Welfare State but he always seems to come up short on requiring accountability for that money.

++++++HR 9680 To amend the Internal Revenue Code to establish a flat tax, and for other purposes (Louie Gohmert, R-TX, Text not yet available).

THIS BILL WOULD ALL BUT DESTROY THE INFERNAL REVENUE “SERVICE.”  (Unfortunately, it will likely never pass because it would prevent our government from persecuting its enemies and it would return the power of the purse to We The People, but the saddest part is; there are simply too few Citizens who will stand up and DEMAND its passage.)

+++HR 9688 To amend the Help America Vote Act of 2002 to ensure that voters in elections for Federal office do not wait in long lines in order to vote (Nikema Williams, D-GA, Text not yet available).

And do you suppose Nikema’s “solution” to enable voters to avoid those long lines might have something to do with “Community Organizers” distributing and then harvesting ballots?  Hmm . . .

+++++HR 2617 An Act to amend section 1115 of title 31, United States Code, to amend the description of how performance goals are achieved, and for other purposes  (Gerald Connolly, D-VA, 1653 pages).

This bill specifies FY 2023 funding amounts for each subdivision of Federal government and how those funds are to be used.  It is the “short” version of the

Consolidated Appropriations Act

The following links are provided for those who may wish to read the “short” version or the full-length version of the bill.

LAGNIAPPE

In this, the last edition of the “Lagniappe” features, I will share my thoughts on why the United States of America – “America” – must always strive to be “First” (the best among all competitors), in everything we choose, need, and must do, but first, I’d like to briefly share the meaning of Lagniappe.

A lagniappe (/ˈlænjæp/ LAN-yap, /lænˈjæp/ lan-YAP) is “a small gift given to a customer by a merchant at the time of a purchase” (such as a 13th doughnut on purchase of a dozen), or more broadly, “something given or obtained gratuitously or by way of good measure.”  [2] It can be used more generally as meaning any extra or unexpected benefit.  [3] The word entered English from the Louisiana French adapting a Quechua word brought in to New Orleans by the Spanish Creoles.  I became familiar with the word back in the days when I worked in and around the Gulf of Mexico, as an oilfield Geologist, Seismologist, and Paleontologist.  It has been an occasional part of my vocabulary ever since.

For decades now, those of us who proudly declare our belief – a belief based on empirical knowledge – that the United States of America is the greatest country to ever exist on planet Earth, knowing that greatness was made possible only by an economic system known as “Free Market Capitalism” – have often found ourselves met with harsh denials and criticisms from the anti-American cult.

Many Patriotic Americans are prompted to wonder “what is our country coming to.”  What the majority of Americans do not know is that the seeds of this anti-American movement were planted in America more than 140 years ago.

It all began with what was called the “Progressive Movement” – a movement founded in Marxism; the movement that elevated Woodrow Wilson to infest the White House – and this movement has evolved to the point where, on a daily basis, we see the attempts by our nation’s domestic enemies (who are now very deeply entrenched amongst us) to, in every way possible, malign and outright seek to destroy the nation, a nation its Patriots revere.  To clarify, the term “Progressives” includes Marxists, Communists, Fascists, Socialists, and Statists.  It would be correct to deduce that the Progressive Movement can now be accurately defined as an attack set to destroy the United States of America.

Dare we doubt that what we know of today that the Progressive Movement is not founded in Marxism?  Please consider:  Marx and Engels wrote “the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles” (Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, Communist Manifesto, 1848).

Their argument – an argument that continues today – is that capitalism should be replaced by Socialism—a term that broadly refers to government ownership of industries and collectives, rather than private, ownership of property.  Marx and Engels envisioned a classless society giving “to each according to his need,” and taking “from each according to his ability.”  They falsely claimed, under their system, there would no longer be any unfulfilled need, or even a need for government itself in a future communist society.  The individual person, with rights at the center of the American tradition, would be replaced by socialized persons called “species beings.”  Until that time the Communist party would rule a “dictatorship of the proletariat,” the working class that the party claimed to represent.

Was Woodrow Wilson a Socialist?  Here’s a quote from him made in 1887:  “In a fundamental theory socialism and democracy are almost if not quite one and the same.  They both rest at bottom upon the absolute right of the community to determine its own destiny and that of its members.  Men as communities are supreme over men as individuals.”  You decide.

The Progressives have succeeded to the point where, today, we find that capitalism has been replaced with what is known as a “mixed economy.”

Some of us – certainly too few – have awakened (or are awakening) to the fact that this cult of America-haters have for far too long been entrenched within our government and throughout our society.  Our domestic enemies have shown us they will never relent in their efforts to destroy our Constitutional Republic, and Patriotic Americans now find ourselves face a horrific dilemma:  We must either purge the Progressives out of their positions of power – whether it be those holding in elected office, those career service and other civil service type jobs, or those occupying other positions of power and influence – or we will stand by to watch a  nation that countless numbers of Patriots before us have sacrificed blood and treasure to defend as it swirls down into the sewer of history.

The task before us certainly will not be an easy one.  After all, the Progressives have had more than 140 years to burrow into seemingly inextricable and undetectable places into our society, but we must consider what will happen if we fail.

Before going further, it is absolutely essential that I make perfectly clear what is meant by the word “purge.”  First, I shall describe what it is I do not advocate:  I am not implying that we should round up the Progressives and put them on the gallows or in front of a firing squad, or to lock them away in some gulag where they would be met with hard labor and starvation for the rest of their lives.  That is, after all, what they have in store for us should we fail in this mission.  (Read your history books to learn the truth!)

Just as a ray of sunshine is the best antidote for removing the mold and vermin that would spoil our home, the light of TRUTH is the best way to defeat the Progressive Movement, and that light is only attainable through the en-light-enment that is born by the acquisition of knowledge.  The knowledge I speak of is to be found in the study of unadulterated history, and by observing and analyzing current events.  ”Vencit Omina Veritas” (Truth conquers all things.)  Without a firm grasp on the TRUTH we can make no viable argument – or take any meaningful action – against those who would destroy our Constitutional Republic!

As is implied in the preceding paragraph, we must be aware that some (if not many) of the history books we find in our schools today have been altered – and much of the TRUTH has been obliterated – certain parts of our history, and these adulterations have been made by those same Progressives from whom we must win back our Constitutional Republic and restore it to the ideals of our Founding Fathers.

Should you wish to examine some of the “unedited” versions of our nation’s history, I recommend the following books as primers for your journey to understanding the TRUTH:

  • History on the United States from the Discovery of the American Continent (There are nine volumes in all), by George Bancroft (yes, he is one of my ancestors), the last volume of which was published c. 1835, by Little, Brown & Company.
  • The Rise of American Civilization, by Charles A. Beard and Mary R. Beard, 1930, the Macmillan Company.
  • A General History of the World, by Oscar Browning, M.A., 1918, Edward Arnold.
  • Outlines of European History, by James Henry Breasted, 1914, Ginn and Company. (This book enables the reader to understand why our Founding Fathers created our Constitutional Republic in the fashion they chose.
  • A Patriot’s History of the United States, Larry Schweikart and Michael Allen, 2007, Sentinel Publishing Co. (This volume is the most up to date writing of which I am aware and it includes many references.)
  • Capitalism – The Unknown Ideal, Ayn Rand, et al, 1966, Signet Publishing Company.

To reiterate, Progressivism is merely a polite word that includes Socialists, Marxists, Communists, and Statists, and they have become more emboldened through the years.  How pervasive?

Since the election of our first Socialist President – Woodrow Wilsion – most notably, there was Henry Wallace who served as FDR’s Vice President.  He was a card-carrying Communist.  As a result of the pressure brought to bear by several American Patriots, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was forced to replace him with Harry Truman.

More recently, there was George H. Bush – a proponent of a One World Government – a position that demanded that the United States of America must relinquish its dominance on the world stage so that “other nations” may have a chance to excel.

Later came Barack Hussein 0bama, the Islamist who was groomed by the avowed Communist Frank Marshall Davis.  0bama later served as a proxy for the anarchist Bill Ayers.  One may recall while on his “Apology Tour,” it was Mr. 0bama proclaimed “America was never all that great.”

Today, The United States of America has many other enemies occupying positions of great power, most notably:  Bernie Sanders, a self-proclaimed Socialist; Ilhan Omar, an Islamist, and; Hakeem Jefferies, an avowed Marxist who now leads the Democrats in the House of Representatives.  There are many others!

Through the years, the attacks by the Progressives has been on many fronts.  Most recently, “Critical Race Theory,” (CRT), has emerged in our public schools as one of the most recent lies spread by the Progressives.  It is based on Karl Marx’s writings.  A glimpse into CRT shows this ideology teaches that “Whiteness” is oppression and that all its manifestations—including “the nuclear family,” “objective, rational linear thinking,” and the idea that “hard work is the key to success”—must be stamped out.  It rejects the most fundamental beliefs of our nation, that we are all equal under the law and should have the same opportunities to prosper and pursue happiness based on individual merit.  The other fronts on which the Progressive Movement has attacked the country we love are discussed in the following paragraphs.

The Patriotic American knows that the United States is – by virtue of its own merit – the greatest country on Earth and, if it is to remain so, we must always promote, in accordance with all that is noble and ethical, an America First agenda.  The objective thinker clearly understands that free-market capitalism and achievement based on merit has enabled our country to rise to its prominence.

To continue to serve as the standard bearer for Freedom, America must return to a system where working for and earning the status of self-reliance is achieved through the merit of each individual.  Through the reestablishment of a meritocracy, America must then return to the industrial dynamo that it once was by producing its own food, its own industrial machinery and its own technological devices  This is the only means by which we can regain our independence from all other nations.  In our advocacy for such independence, the Progressives will try to smear us by accusing us of being Isolationists.  This inaccurate accusation is a lie!

In the objective study of history we come to realize it has been the United States of America that has done more than all other nations combined to defend the oppressed people around the globe and lifted them out of poverty, starvation, and despair.  We could only have done so much for so many had we not only been the most generous nation on Earth but also the strongest.

By way of example, there once was a US Senator from the State of Wisconsin, of whom most Americans are aware but do not fully understand his invaluable contributions to our Constitutional Republic; his name was Joseph McCarthy.  Although he had some – if not many – personal flaws, no one ever doubted his love for America.  He fully understood the threat posed by the Progressives – more particularly the Communists.  Senator McCarthy fought tirelessly to expose this pernicious threat.  Had it not been for Senator McCarthy, Henry Wallace – the card-carrying Communist who served as Franklin Roosevelt’s Vice President – would have risen to the presidency following Roosevelt’s death.  It was Senator McCarthy who was instrumental in having Wallace replaced with Harry Truman.  (Please remember that Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who in fact was the Father of Socialism in America, often referred to Josef Stalin, the murderous dictator of Russia who starved more than ten million of his own citizens to death, as “Good Old Joe.”)

The Progressives (with the eager assistance of FDR) maligned and destroyed Senator McCarthy with their constant smearing, but to the day he died, he never relented from his mission to expose the Progressives who had infested our government, our public schools, our labor unions, our pulpits, and other high-ranking and influential posts.  Yet, even now, when a brave and patriotic soul attempts to warn us of the infestation of Progressives and communistic tendencies in our society, it is the Progressives who band together to smear them and accuse them of “McCarthyism.”  They really mean “Anti-Communist.”  To be known as one who fights against communism and warns others of the threat of communism – and all forms of Progressivism, as well – is, in fact, a badge of honor that any American should proudly wear!

The Progressives have expanded their front of their smear campaign to the point where they persecute those who declare themselves to be Constitutional Conservatives as Extremists.  This is just another part of their smear campaign – most recently referred to as the “Cancel Culture,” and, as always, responding to them with the TRUTH is the best of all antidotes for their particular brand of poison.

In summary, the Progressives have continued (and improved upon through the use of social media) the strategy of the “Muckrakers;” among them are (faux) “journalists” who not only embellish facts but also spread outright lies that are in every way intended to make patriotism seem like an evil trait.

Before going further, it is imperative that the reader understands and acknowledges that our country has made some extremely grievous errors in its past.  It is true that many of our fellow Americans have been persecuted for many reasons and they have been denied their rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.  There are no excuses to justify what has happened in our nation’s past but there are three thoughts one must keep in mind:  1. Our Constitution has been amended, innumerable laws and regulations have been passed, and untold revenues have been allocated to correct and prevent these travesties from ever again being repeated and reparations have been made to those who may have suffered (directly and indirectly), past persecutions.  No other nation can make that claim!  2. In spite of its past grievous errors, the United States is still the most just and generous nation to ever exist; it is the ideal sought by all freedom-loving people and is the standard by which all other nations are judged.  3. The past is the past and the past cannot be undone and no one alive today is guilty of those past errors and those who are alive today are therefore not to be held accountable for errors we did not make.

Although it is growing at a faster pace than ever, the actual core of the Progressive movement remains relatively small – small but very powerful.  But, the Progressives have managed to recruit large forces of ignorant sycophants and have duped them into aiding, abetting and even joining the Progressives’ self-destructive mission.  These ignorant sycophants are divided into two classifications:  1. The Anarchists (Antifa, Black Panthers, Ku Klux Klan, Black Nation of Islam, American Nazi Party, and the American Communist Party).  2. The Altruists.

The Anarchists serve as the Progressives’ foot soldiers.  We far too often see them on television – and most especially in liberal-run cities), as they create all manner of havoc in the streets, loot businesses using “snatch and grab” tactics, both threaten and commit acts of violence against those with whom they disagree.  Those foot soldiers also serve in the media; they either malign or block Conservatives who attempt to reveal the TRUTH.  One of their favorite weapons is the claim that truth tellers are “conspiracy theorists.”  As we have so often learned, those “theories” are often factual.

The Altruists help serve as the Progressives’ propagandists, donors, and cannon fodder, but who are they?

We find the Altruists are often well-intentioned and compassionate people who, through the misinformation (propaganda) spread by the Progressives, have been indoctrinated into believing it is somehow noble to impose self-suffering for the sake of others who are suffering.  By doing this, the Altruists try to gain some identity with those who – most often through their absence of ability or work ethic to raise themselves out of their deplorable condition – endure abject poverty.

Conservatives find themselves paralyzed by the false conflict existing between capitalism and altruism.  As altruism has been perverted to mean, it holds that no one has the right to exist merely for their own sake – that service to others is the only justification for one’s existence, and that self-sacrifice is the highest of all virtues.  The Altruists have been duped into believing that the more they suffer, the more noble they will become.  Those who lead the Altruists are false prophets.  Recall the words of the philosopher, Umbert Eno:  [We must] fear “prophets” and those prepared to die for the truth, for as a rule they make many others die with them, often before them, at times instead of them.

The Progressives promote this false deduction through “Virtue Signaling.”

Virtue signaling”, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, is “an attempt to show other people that you are a good person, for example by expressing opinions that will be acceptable to them, especially on social media,”  In reality, their expressions are most often exaggerated or insincere.  Think of the Pharisees for greater understanding.

One example often cited as virtue signaling is “greenwashing” (a compound word modelled on “whitewash”).  For instance, it is when a company deceptively claims that its products or policies are more environmentally friendly than they actually are.  Know this false narrative for what it is – a Progressive ruse – yet the Progressives have indoctrinated their sycophants into thinking America must pay for its past “sins” through self-immolation.

What must we do on the political scene?

It serves the cause of the Patriots to devote time to not only understand the TRUTH of history but also to be cognizant of what is going on today.  This requires some of our time.  To one who has tuned out current events, it could seem like a gargantuan effort to backtrack and gather information that might have been missed.  I assure you it will be worth your efforts!

During the process of backtracking, one must stay up to date with what is transpiring on a daily basis.  There are many “sources” available to us; not all are to be considered viable – that is, not all are without bias – and regardless of the sources we may choose, we must always conduct our own analysis.  Some of the sources I have come to (generally) trust include:  Fox Business Network, CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” BBC’s “Radio 4” (available online via live streaming).  Newspapers that are (currently) reputable include The New York Post, The Washington Times, The Wall Street Journal and, The London Daily Telegraph.  If one desires to stay up with legislation that is being considered in Congress, there is no better source than https://www.GovTrack.us.  By all means, avoid those sources out on the fringe (both on the “Left” and the “Right:”  While they may project the image of being a “conservative” source, they are most always biased, highly speculative, sensationalists, and downright nefarious.  Ultimately:  Trust only viable sources and give credibility to a report only if it can be verified through multiple, independent, and TRUSTED sources.  (Simply because a source may claim to represent conservative values does not mean it is credible.)

None of us are omniscient:  No one, regardless of how intelligent we may be, can know all there is to know, and no one is infallible when it comes to processing the data we gather.  For that reason, civil conversations with others – including conversations with those whose philosophy may be different from our own – will help us gain a better understanding of the issues we evaluate.

If, in our conversations, we are confronted with a claim or a premise with which we disagree or question, ask the individual making that claim to provide the source, then, as Ronald Reagan suggested:  Trust but verify.

We engage in the learning process because we seek knowledge but if we do nothing with that knowledge we are no better for it.  If our Constitutional Republic is to thrive – or even remain intact – we must, to the extent of our ability, be a part of the process.

Having first honored the commitments to those who are dependent upon us (which includes ourselves), in return for the privilege of being an American Citizen, we are obliged to contribute a portion of our time and efforts to invoke the changes we deem essential.  We need to embrace two facts:  All talk and no action doesn’t get us to where we want or need to go.  There is strength in numbers.

The actions available to anyone include:

  1. Communicating with elected representatives – City/County Commissioners, Mayors, County Executives, and Members of the House of Representatives and Senators – both at the State and Federal levels.
  2. Joining Republican organizations, e.g. County Republican Parties, and conservative discussion groups.
  3. Signing up for emails from conservative groups, e.g. The Heritage Foundation, Hillsdale College, and many others.
  4. Attending Town Hall meetings, functions sponsored by elected representatives, and political debates.
